    2. Summary of Job Description
    The Energy Sector Office is looking for a candidate who can join the division for 8-11 weeks. The candidate who understands Energy System Methodologies and Tools is preferable. The intern is expected to work five days per week under the supervision of the designated staff in the Energy Sector Office.

    The intern will support the Energy Sector Office in promoting the use of integrated energy systems in ADBโ€™s energy portfolio. This includes renewable energy integration, energy efficiency, smart grid technologies, and other innovative clean energy technologies.

    3. Period of Assignment
    Timing: 8-11 weeks
    Duration: June 2025 onwards

    ADB Headquarters, Manila, Philippines

    5. Expected Outcomes
    As outcome, the intern is expected to gain a deeper understanding of development finance and the development impact of ADB in the DMCsโ€™ energy sector. For ADBโ€™s part, the internship in the Energy Sector Office will help provide additional knowledge support, specifically on integrated energy system planning, for its work on improving access to reliable, affordable, low-carbon energy across Asia and the Pacific and towards achieving the goals of Strategy 2030.

    As outputs, the intern is expected to:
    โ€ข present their research work in an ADB-wide forum; and
    โ€ข submit reports and presentations on methodologies for integrated energy system planning to their supervisors which will be the basis for the final evaluation of the interns.

    Qualifications

    6. Education Requirements
    Currently enrolled in a Masterโ€™s or Ph.D. program in Energy Economics, Electrical Engineering, or other relevant field.

    7. Relevant Experience and Other Requirements
    โ€ข Deep understanding of energy balance
    โ€ข Strong understanding of energy system planning methodologies and tools
    โ€ข Proficient in data analysis and energy system analysis
    โ€ข Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, energy efficiency measures and innovative clean energy solutions
    โ€ข Understanding investment planning would be an advantage but not required.
