Euroclima is the regional cooperation programme that fosters the strategic partnership between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC), based on shared values and a commitment to jointly address climate change and biodiversity loss.
Euroclima is co-funded by the European Union and the German Federal Government through the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It seeks to contribute to sustainable, resilient and inclusive transition through climate mitigation and adaptation efforts, including protection, restoration, biodiversity conservation and the promotion of the circular economy. Euroclima is part of the renewed Agenda for Relations between the EU and Latin America and the Caribbean and is part of the Global Gateway strategy that promotes investments and financing in relevant sectors, as well as the use of other instruments of the EU and its Member States to achieve more sustainable, just and interconnected societies. It is implemented under the spirit of Team Europe, through the synergic work of the following agencies: Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), AFD Group: Agence Franรงaise de Dรฉveloppement (AFD)/ Expertise France (EF), Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), Fundaciรณn para la Internacionalizaciรณn de las Administraciones Pรบblicas (FIAP), Deutsche Gesellschaft fรผr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH, the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
GIZ is looking for an INTERN (m/f/d) for the Euroclima team in Brussels to support the programme management of GIZ-Euroclima in general and with regards to topics at the interface of climate / biodiversity and business / investment.

During your internship you'll have the following tasks:

You have completed at least an undergraduate/bachelor's degree, i.e. you are shortly before or shortly after graduating from university in a relevant field, e.g. Business administration, law, economics, political science You are proficient in written and spoken German, English and Spanish (comparable to C2 in the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages for at least two languages is a requirement). Fluent in languages like Portuguese or French is an asset Internships, (holiday) jobs in business, association or volunteer work or social services are an asset Initial experience in the LAC context and/or in development cooperation and/or private sector is an advantage Interest in climate change and sustainable development and willingness to familiarise yourself with new topics You are very confident in using the MS Office package You are a team player and have strong communication skills Networking skills and intercultural sensitivity in dealing with relevant local and international stakeholders You have very good organisational skills and are able to maintain an overview in a working environment with diverse tasks and can organise your day-to-day work efficiently yourselfNotes
Please be informed that you are only allowed to apply for this internship, if you are currently enrolled as a student or graduated not longer than six months ago from the start of your internship. Candidates must also hold a Belgian work permit, which in case of non-EU nationality must be uploaded when applying. GIZ will neither cover costs nor apply for work permits for internships.
We pay a monthly stipend of โฌ1.350,- (gross). Please note that the contract will be concluded under Belgian law.
