About this position
We are looking for a skilled, proactive, and detail-oriented Information Technology Specialist. As an Information Technology Specialist, you will design, develop, and maintain robust information systems, ensure seamless integration of digital solutions, enhance system performance, and provide technical support to optimize business processes across the Office of the Secretary and its key stakeholders.
You will work in the Information Systems and Digital Innovation section (SEC/ISD), which is part of the Office of the Secretary (SEC) department.
This team designs, develops, and maintains information systems that support the business processes of all the sections within the Office of the Secretary and its main clients. It also manages the information systems used during the Annual Meetings of the IDB and IDB Invest Boards of Governors and maintains the required technology infrastructure.
What youโll do

Leading and actively contributing to digital transformation projects, including system design, development, testing, and implementation.

Identifying and recommending process and system enhancements through re-engineering and optimization.

Providing post-implementation support, including process adjustments and production issue resolution.

Piloting and evaluating emerging technologies to assess their value and accelerate deployment.

Designing and delivering scalable, secure, and compliant solutions in alignment with organizational standards and policies.

Develop reusable code and libraries to improve development efficiency.

Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and contribute to improving user experience.

Maintain, optimize, and provide ongoing support for existing systems.

Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and business users.

Work independently and efficiently on assigned tasks, meeting deadlines and project objectives.

Demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills, effectively engaging with diverse roles and teams.

Manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining high-quality standards.
What you'll need
- Education: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related field relevant to the responsibilities of the role.
- Experience: At least/7 years of progressive experience in Software Development.
- Languages: Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.
- Technologies: Programming Languages: Proficiency in ASP.NET, C#, and JavaScript. JavaScript Frameworks/Libraries: Experience with one or more modern JavaScript frameworks, such as TypeScript, React.js, Angular, or similar. Backend Development: Hands-on experience with Node.js and Python frameworks for API development and server-side applications. Mobile & iOS Development: Experience with Xcode, Swift, and iOS development, including building and maintaining native iOS applications. Familiarity with SwiftUI, and Appleโs Guidelines is a plus. SharePoint & Microsoft 365: Experience with SharePoint Online, Power Automate, Power Apps, and Microsoft 365 integration for enterprise collaboration and workflow automation. Software Design: Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and best practices for scalable applications. Web Development: Hands-on experience with scalable web applications, RESTful APIs, microservices architecture, and responsive web design. Databases: Experience with SQL Server or Oracle; familiarity with NoSQL databases like MongoDB is a plus. Containerization & DevOps: Hands-on experience with Docker for containerized applications; familiarity with Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deployment (AWS, Azure) is a plus. Operating Systems: Proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Linux environments, and macOS development tools. Tools & Methodologies: Experience with version control systems (Git), Agile development (Scrum/Kanban), and project management tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).

- International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
