Work LocationIn -person/ Vienna, Austria Expected duration6 months. Desired start date is 1 July 2025, or sooner. Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe duration of the internship is for six (6) months. The internship is UNPAID and may be either full-time or part-time. It should be noted that full-time internship working hours are 35 hours per week, while part-time internship working hours are 20 hours per week. The internship will be undertaken either remotely outside the duty station or in a hybrid working arrangement at the UN Premise, Vienna, Austria. Participation in the software integration process (including research, design, coding, testing, etc.) of computer application systems using established standards, programming languages, methods and tools, like: .NET Core/.NET 5, C#, Visual Studio, Angular, Elasticsearch, MariaDB, Scrum, Agile, Azure DevOps, Azure Cloud, etc. Assistance in creating graphical representations of data, like interactive network diagrams, charts and dashboards, applying best practices of data visualization and graphic design theories, using open source and free-to-use tools and libraries. Help maintaining tests and functional specifications for computer application systems, programs and procedures developed and/or modified. Participation in training activities, including the preparation of training materials and technical and user documentation, and compilation of relevant information Assistance in developing documentation and material and publishing them to websites Interacting with other teams responsible for technology innovation Support the activities of as needed as deemed necessary by their supervisor. Qualifications/special skillsBe enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent); or Have graduated with a university degree (as defined above) and, if selected, must commence the internship within a one-year period of graduation; Applicants are not required to have professional work experience for participatio in the programm programme LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position advertised, fluency in English (both oral and written) is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is an advantage.
