Renewable Energyโ€“Accelerated Transition (RE-ACT)

To support the Government of Indonesia (GOI) in achieving its renewable energy and net-zero emission targets, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is implementing the โ€œRenewable Energyโ€“Accelerated Transitionโ€ (RE-ACT) project in Indonesia. The RE-ACT project, which commenced in October 2021 and spans five years, is funded by the Government of New Zealand. The project collaborates with the GOI to address policy barriers and challenges, aiming to create an enabling policy environment that stimulates private investment in renewable energy, thereby facilitating more ambitious Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) based on accelerated renewable energy adoption.

The project encompasses the development and implementation of supporting policy frameworks, stakeholder engagement, capacity development, and the creation of de-risking instruments and financing mechanisms.

The RE-ACT project is led by the Directorate for Various New and Renewable Energy at the Directorate General for New Energy, Renewable Energy, and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) under the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (MEMR), with BAPPENAS serving as the co-chair of the project.
