Work LocationBamako / Mali Expected duration01 month Duties and ResponsibilitiesBackground: The United Nations is supporting Mali's development, peacebuilding and stabilization efforts through its agencies, funds, and programs. A UN Cooperation Framework for Sustainable Development (CF) for the period 2020-2024 extended to 2025 signed with the government enables the UN to provide a concerted and coordinated response to the country's challenges and priorities. The implementation of the cooperation framework generates thousands of data during the planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation levels. Joint work plans bring together data from UN agencies, funds, and programs in Mali. They contain, among other things, a wealth of information related to intervention budgets, intervention locations, SDGs , human rights and gender markers. Also, several indicators at the effect and output levels are targeted to measure development progress and the effectiveness of the implementation of the cooperation framework. These indicators are measured at the achievement level on several themes such as governance, justice, peace and social inclusion, protection of women's and children's rights, economic growth, climate change and access to basic social services. Collecting and analyzing data related to the implementation of the cooperation framework is central to the daily activities of monitoring and evaluation officers and data managers of the United Nations system in Mali. This work represents a valuable resource for the United Nations country team in Mali. The volume of this data continues to increase daily. The United Nations in Mali needs to optimize its management to facilitate decision-making and guide tactical and strategic choices. Using artificial intelligence in data ingestion and analysis offers numerous benefits in terms of time savings, accessibility and reliability of analyses. The Power BI application is an impressively powerful tool for data exploration and analysis that is easy to use and acquire. These Terms of Reference are intended to set the framework for the support work and highlight the results expected relating to the training of GTSE on this important data analysis software Duties and Responsibilities: The IC will be responsible for the design of training module, the training of participants and their post-training follow-up during the two weeks after the training in order to facilitate appropriation . His/her responsibilities include the following steps: • Help participants to install Power BI free version in cases where the application is not already installed by the organization on their computers; • Explain the different features of Power BI and contextualization with the types of data used by the organization; • Design training modules and others documentations; • Train participants to connect to data sources (import mode, DirectQuery mode and composite mode ), including the creation and organization of data tables; • Train participants in data management and modeling, specifically on removing duplicates, adding calculated columns and performing intelligent calculations using DAX language, performing quality control, defining relationships between data tables, performing column settings, creating hierarchies, data grooming and transformation; • Coach participants in creating metrics, including numbers, margins and performance rates; • Train participants to create dynamic visualizations, define suitable visuals, and create interactive reports; • Support participants to be able to share, consume and publish reports; • Assist participants in keeping data and information up to date; • Provide post-training follow-up for participants for a period of 17 working days after the training (appropriation phase). Qualifications/special skillsAt least a masters degree with 5 years in any social science field ( Economics, legal, statistic, project or program management…), with a strong experience in data analysis and a deep knowledge of Power BI application or to be a certified trainer in Power BI with a minimum of 5 years of experience in the fields mentioned is required. A Bachelor’s degree combined with an additional 2 years of relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of a Master’s degree Experience in andragogy, Experience in training professionals in Power BI and a strong analytical skills, including data analysis is required A proven ability in teamwork, communication skills and having a computer skills: word, excel, power point, Power BI is required LanguagesFluency in French and a basic knowledge of English is required.
