Nature of the consultancy:ย Category B. Under the overall supervision of theย Chief of Mission (CoM),ย with the direct supervision of the Programme Officer (MHPSS); and, in collaboration with other relevant staff of the Unit, the successful candidate will be responsible and accountable for the production of illustrations for different programmatic MHPSS documents in English and Ukrainian languages.
Project Context and Scope:ย IOM Ukraine operates a comprehensive Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) programme that integrates emergency response, recovery, and long-term resilience-building. Psychological consultations are provided through mobile psychosocial teams, including psychological first aid, and focused counseling. The programme also implements a wide-scale community-based MHPSS approach grounded in the IOM Manual on Community-Based Mental Health and Psychosocial Support in Emergencies and Displacement. This includes: structured psychosocial activities such as art, music, crafts, excursions, and sports to foster community resilience; capacity-building and awareness-raising initiatives for local actors and community organizations; integration of MHPSS into livelihood frameworks, including emotional support and life skills development; structured interventions like Equine-Assisted Psychosocial Support and tailored support for persons after amputation, supported by manuals and visual materials currently under design.
The consultant is expected to provide illustration support toward the development of:ย
1) a set of illustrations on reintegration of veterans into civilian life, including working environment, family, sport, cultural and recreational settings.

The Graphic Designer will work on the designing and layout of several research and communications products, including:
Illustrations on success stories of veterans and their familiesย (English and Ukrainian versions): Up to twenty (20) illustrations on positive community integration and psychosocial support for veterans, focused on success stories of transition from service to civilian life and psychosocial support for veterans and families of veterans.Performance indicators for the evaluation of results
All design files, photos and supporting files used in the designing process and a final PDF version will be delivered. The final deliverables should be submitted electronically to IOM focal point mentioned in the initial request. The assignment must be completed as per a mutually agreed date. The final version of the reports must adhere to IOM Brand Guidelines, IOM Style Manual and IOM Spelling Guideline. Regular update of status of the work to IOM project team/assigned focal person.Education, Experience and/or skills required
Bachelor's Degree in Digital Art or Illustration or any other related qualifications, with at least 5 years of work experience in Illustration. Strong theoretical and practical background in illustration, including the use of illustration softwares. Proven experience of illustration production from start to published/printed product with knowledge of printing processes (offset and digital) and color management. At least 3 examples of previous works should be demonstrated. Previous experience in working in the UN system is an asset. Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment and respect diversity. Teamwork oriented but with a capacity to work independently. Excellent writing and communication skills.Travel required:ย
