Result of ServiceUnder the overall supervision of the Director of IDD and the direct supervision of the Chief of IDS, the individual contractor will deliver the following tasks: a) Support the Committee on follow-activities in Samoa to facilitate information sharing and also increasing awareness of local Samoa stakeholders to the Pacific IXP, through attending monthly virtual Committee meetings and provide substantive inputs, follow-up on Committee requests for Samoa including dialogue with local stakeholders, and when necessary, promote the Pacific IXP to seek additional members from Samoa stakeholders to the Committee. b) Draft an action plan (10 pages maximum), outlining potential key stakeholders in Samoa and contact persons for future partnership, assess the Committeeโs future operation modality, opportunities, and challenges in Samoa, estimate financial/costing considerations for the Committeeโs future operation in Samoa, and outline key recommendations for the Committee on next steps in Samoa, following consultations with key local stakeholders. c) Conduct a needs assessment study (15 pages maximum) of the opportunities and demand from other South Pacific Island Countries for membership to the Pacific IXP. The needs assessment needs to include analysis of the gaps and constraints in the national ICT sector of each South Pacific Island Country, assessment of the key focal stakeholders including potential, and clear recommendations for the Pacific IXP Committee on way forward. In response, the ESCAP secretariat plans to hire an individual contractor to support the Committee on follow-activities in Samoa to facilitate information sharing and also increasing awareness of local Samoa stakeholders to the Pacific IXP.
