Work LocationNarino, Columbia Expected duration4 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the CMAP Chief, Mine Action Programme Colombia, the Local HMA Coordinator will undertake the following tasks: ● Support local authorities (Local Office of the Inspector General, Local Ombudsman’s Office, regional governments, municipalities, local Victims’s Assistance Unit, among others) in developing emergency protocols for responding to EO accidents and victims . ● Work with authorities, implementing partners, and other relevant stakeholders in monitoring the plans and projects related to Mine Action being carried out in the department. ● Conduct Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) sessions to safeguard communities and carry out awareness sessions for public officials. ● Provide guidance to survivors and their families on how to access the State’s Victims Pathway. ● Support the structures of the humanitarian architecture (Local Coordination Team – LCTs, Protection Working Group – PWGs, etc.) in the territory on matters related to Mine Action. Coordinate the local Mine Action (MA) subgroup within the LCT, in collaboration with NGOs and humanitarian actors, to ensure the effective dissemination of safety information and resources. ● Analyze the information related to the impact of Antipersonnel Mines and other explosive devices in the department for the drafting of reports and other documents . ● Support and attend inter-agency field missions as required. ● Support the preparation of project narrative reports. ● Carry out any other tasks or activities related to the project, in line with the assigned role. Qualifications/special skillsA minimum 2 years of experience in Mine Action and in Explosive Ordnance Risk Education (EORE) is required. A minimum of one (1) year of experience working with authorities, implementing partners, and other relevant stakeholders in monitoring Mine Action plans and projects is desirable. Work experience in planning and implementing public policies, planning tools and emergency protocols is desirable. Work experience with the UN Country Team, Local Humanitarian Architecture, or National/International Humanitarian NGOs is desirable. Experience in the armed conflict context and data analysis or related areas is desirable. Basic EORE certification LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written Spanish is required for the position.
