This announcement broadcasts the international internship with the Development and Economic and Social Issues Branch (DESIB). Located in the Thematic Engagement, Special Procedures and Right to Development Division, the Branch facilitates OHCHR's thematic work on the right to development, economic, social and cultural rights (ESCR), sustainable development, civic space, business and human rights, the rights of persons with disabilities, children and youth, migration, environment and climate change and human rights economy. For more information on OHCHR's mandated activities please visit www.ohchr.org The intern shall support OHCHR in fulfilling its mission: to work for the protection of all human rights for all people; to help empower people to realize their rights; and to assist those responsible for upholding such rights in ensuring that they are implemented. Daily responsibilities of the human rights and communication intern of the Development and Economic and Social Issues Branch will depend on activities carried-out and the individual's qualifications and competencies. Duties may include but are not limited to internal and external communication support to DESIB, constituency building, video editing, developing communication methods, researching and analysing issues on a wide range of thematic areas mentioned above. The intern may draft background materials, infographics, surveys, and other relevant documents and perform other related duties requested by the supervisor. Qualifications/special skillsApplicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, a graduate school programme in Law, Human Rights, International relations, Political Science, Development or related subject (second university degree or equivalent, or higher - Masterโs or Ph.D. Programme or equivalent). (b) be enrolled in, or have recently completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme in Law, Human Rights, International relations, Political Science, Development or related subject (minimum bachelorโs degree or equivalent).
