Mission and objectivesThe United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) is the lead UN agency for delivering a world where every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe and every young person's potential is fulfilled. UNFPA focuses on advancing womenโs and young peopleโs ability to exercise their sexual and reproductive health rights. Since 1970, UNFPA in Pakistan has supported: Sexual and reproductive health information and services; Adolescents and youth; Womenโs empowerment and gender equality; Population and development. Our programmes expand across the country with tailored interventions for local contexts. We do this through: Gender-responsive and youth-friendly policies, laws and initiatives; Advocacy for increased investments in health and education; Strengthened capacities of government and civil society institutions for youth-led sexual and reproductive health programmes and partnerships; Alliances and strategies to reduce gender inequality; Integrated and multi-sectoral approaches to population dynamics and its linkages to development; Communication strategies that address social norms change; Enhance government partnership with private and civil society sectors. Working with government, civil society partners and other humanitarian agencies, UNFPA Pakistan advocates for the integration of gender and sexual and reproductive health issues by increasing awareness and commitment among policy makers, decision-makers and program managers and strengthening partnerships with national entities to improve coordination for effective preparedness and response. UNFPA is aligned with national priorities (Pakistan 2025 Vision), the United Nations Sustainable Development Framework (UNSDF 2018-2022), UNFPA Strategic Plan (2018-2021), International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD), the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development (SDGs) and Family Planning 2020 commitments.
ContextUNFPA provides technical support to their implementing partners in executing and reporting the planned activi-ties in the work plans, guided by UNFPA Policies and Procedures. To further strengthen the management of opereations support and to support the Country Office Human resources Associate in day-to-day activities, UN-FPA seeks to recruit One (1) UNV Volunteer Human Resources Assistant. The HR Assistant provides support to program team in day-to-day task ensuring the high quality, accuracy and consistency of work. S/He will be oriented on the UNFPA Policies and Procedures so to effectively assist in completing HR recruitments and other support tasks. The incumbents will report directly to the Human Re-sources Associate.
Task DescriptionThe HR Assistant will assistant Human Resource Associate in: HR Tasks โข Receiving and reviewing hiring documents for the recruitments of Individual consultants (national and international) โข Routing case for approval of hiring from Management โข Advertising the approved posts in local portal โข Convening and Documenting recruitment panel meetings โข Long listing the candidates as per criteria โข Greeting short listings from panels and interviews, presentations and desk reviews and approval from Management โข Issuing letter of intent and ensuring completion of all documents from the newly recruitment consult-ants before issuance of contract โข Arranging briefings / making orientations to all new individual consultants hired about contract man-agement โข Verifying individual consultantโs documentation and filing /organizing them accordingly โข Advertising the approved posts for Staff positons โข Convening and Documenting recruitment panel meetings โข Proposing selection panels in consultation with the CO leadership โข Supporting the design of interview questions for both written and panel interviews โข Preparing interview packages for panel members โข Briefing panel members on interview methods โข Contacting shortlisted candidates and coordinate written tests and interviews โข Providing training programs for the new hired staff โข Entering candidates' data in the HR databases โข Maintaining attendance records of all the employees โข Performing administrative duties as and when required. Key expected results: โข Interviews (both written and verbal) organized and conducted โข Timely and accurate organization of recruitment โข Flow charts of HR processes โข Staff training plan updated โข Up-to-date and secure databases, files and records Protocol tasks โข Provide guidance on E-Visa applications to international staff, consultants, and detailed assignment personnel. โข Communicate visa requirements and updates. โข Track and follow up on pending visa applications. โข Liaise with for timely MOFA through UNDP approvals. โข Support in completing visa forms. โข Process necessary management approvals. โข Handle the entire visa process, ensuring compliance with MOFA regulations. โข Process issuance and renewal of MOFA Dip/Non Dip Cards (Accreditation Cards) for eligible staff and dependents. โข Process vehicles exemptions and registration / deregistration / sale permissions through UNDP and act as focal from UNFPA. โข Facilitate duty exemptions for exporting household goods. โข Clear communication and timely processing of visas, โข Responsible for filing and uploading protocol documents of international staff and vehicles in IODOCS

Living conditions and remarksAs this is a national UNV assignment, the UN Volunteer will be responsible for arranging his/her own housing and other living essentials. UNV Field Unit will help you open a Pak rupee bank account with Standard Chartered Bank or any other local bank at your duty station.
