Lebanon is taking important steps to reduce the burden of cervical cancer by introducing the HPV vaccine into its national immunization program. Cervical cancer remains a significant public health concern, and the HPV vaccine offers a proven, cost-effective preventive measure. With support from UNICEF and key partners, the Ministry of Public Health is working to strengthen the national immunization systemโ€™s readiness, including infrastructure, cold chain capacity, human resources, monitoring systems, and communication strategies. The initiative focuses on developing a comprehensive, evidence-based HPV Vaccine Introduction Plan, establishing a procurement and financing framework, and updating immunization training materials and e-learning courses. These efforts aim to ensure a coordinated, phased, and sustainable rollout that aligns with WHO recommendations and regional best practices.
