BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
To support site maintenance services in providing cleaning, laundry, basic garden maintenance, porter duties and other related manual work, to ensure WFP premises are well-organised, kept in a clean & hygienic condition and are in compliance with the established standards.
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervision received: The Helper reports to a WFP Management Service Unit
Accountabilities: Within delegated authority, the Helper will be responsible for the following duties:
- Perform basic maintenance of outdoor/indoor environments, to keep them clean, well organised and in a good condition.
- Provide support in loading/offloading and moving office equipment, furniture, baggage and other items for efficient site maintenance services.
- Support preparation and delivery of food and beverages, arrange for basic refurbishment and maintenance of kitchen area and equipment to facilitate efficient service.
- Provide laundry services including basic maintenance of related equipment, to ensure that WFP office and guesthouse items are clean.
- Provide efficient cleaning services including kitchens and toilets to ensure clean, hygienic and well-organised working environment.
- This position will be for maintaining a common premises and it is worth mentioning that the incumbent will be responsible for all three offices WFP, OCHA and OHCHR.
- Maintaining the surrounding of the premises including balconies and stairways.
- Checking on the cleaning stocks and informing the line manager regarding the stocks of all cleaning, kitchen and bathroom supplies and to maintain minimum stock.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

No specific requirements. Completion of secondary school education is an advantage

One year or more of related work experience
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
- Knowledge of basic equipment and use of cleaning materials/solutions.
- Ability to operate and maintain equipment and supplies related to work in a good working condition.

The Service Contract (SC) is a decentralized contracting instrument refer to specific guidelines provided and updated by HQ Policy team. It is a flexible contract modality use only by WFP Country Offices. The remuneration of SC holders is based on services satisfactorily provided in accordance with the Terms of Reference under the SC. Remuneration is made on a monthly basis and may include a sum for pension purposes, as described in Manual Section III.7.6.5.
The SC holders are covered under the safety and security measures implemented by the COs and RBs and must comply with the relevant security instructions under the Security Plan.
