Result of Serviceโข Inputs to Daily and weekly work progress and heavy fleet condition reports. โข Preventative electrical maintenance plan and execution records. โข Documentation of diagnostic inspections and preparation of spare parts requirements. โข All electrical repairs and maintenance of HEE, MHE and heavy vehicles, with progressive reduction in overall breakdowns Work LocationAbyei Expected duration6 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe heavy equipment auto electrician manages day-to-day electronics maintenance, diagnostics & repairs for all UNISFA Heavy Engineering Equipment (HEE), Material Handling Equipment (MHE) and heavy vehicles, ensuring work complies with technical specifications and standards, and complies with timelines set by UNISFA Transport Unit work orders. The role includes diagnostics using UNOE diagnostic equipment, electrical repair prioritisation, fault diagnostics, spare parts identification, conducting electrical repairs and preventative maintenance, and all associated documentation. Key Responsibilities: โข Conduct and execute electrical inspection plan for all UNISFA HEE, MHE & heavy vehicles to ensure minimal electrical faults occur during operations. โข Maintain electrical safety standards (UNISFA OH&S SOP), report delays or risks, and ensure compliance with environmental management for all workshop activities โ in particular battery management activities. โข Maintain daily work logs covering electrical diagnostic reports, spare parts issued and fitted, and master equipment servicability record inputs. โข Assist with spare parts delivery inspections for all electrical items delivered, inventory control, and maintain coordination with central warehouse as directed by Transport Unit. โข Identify and resolve electrical problems and report asset condition to Transport Unit as required. โข Perform any other duties as directed by Chief Transport Unit Work Conditions: โข Based in Abyei HQ, with field visits to team sites when required to support breakdowns and field repairs โข Work includes extended hours and travel via UN transport. โข UNISFA provides security, accommodation, and logistical support (including dect phones, radios, laptops, Wi-Fi, office space at the heavy workshop) Qualifications/special skillsDiploma or certificate in Auto Electronics Engineering, Heavy Vehicle Electronics, or related field. Minimum 5 years of experience in heavy engineering equipment electrical diagnostics and repairs, preferably in remote or field environments, is required. Prior UN or international field experience is an advantage. LanguagesEnglish and French are the working languages of the United Nations.
