Project Context and Scope
The project โEU Su-Port to Lampedusaโย aims at facilitating and supporting the efforts already in place to decongest the Hotspot of Lampedusa, in view of ensuring all migrants disembarking have access adequate reception conditions. It ensures the swift and safe transfer via plane of migrants, especially those in vulnerable situations, from the island to the available reception facilities throughout Italy, soon after all relevant procedures (incl. identification, fingerprinting and screening) are completed. The support also entails the organization of ground transportation, whenever necessary, until final destination and provision of medical and operational escorts, if needed.
The objective of the consultancy is to provide support in developing and creating the layout and graphic design of the specific toolkit produced to define a set of step by step guidelines to anticipate and respond to the needs arising from emergency situations determined by sudden, unplanned, increase of migrantsโ arrivals, especially in a confined area (i.e. the island of Lampedusa) and the ensuing need of decongestion of the same. The document in PDF version will be shared with European Commission โ DG Home and used to be disseminated among various stakeholders in Italy.
