What we are looking forย
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Grants Manager to drive partnerships, lead grant development and management, and proactively pursue diverse funding opportunities across for NRCโs operations in Burkina Faso.
In this pivotal role, you will contribute to ensuring the delivery of high-quality programming by supporting budget holders with donor compliance, spearheading timely and accurate donor reporting, and managing project revisions and grant negotiations.
You will play an integral role in contributing to the countryโs fundraising strategy and supporting the expansion of the grants portfolioโtracking funding trends, leading proposal development, and engaging with donors as delegated. Additionally, you will be responsible for key activities withing NRCโs Project Cycle Management (PCM) framework, ย promoting a culture of accountability and performance.
As the Grants Manager, you will facilitate partnership development with other NGOs and support the team in effective partnership management.
What you will doย
Fundraising & Donor Engagement: Lead the development of NRCโs fundraising strategy in coordination with the Programme Unit, ensuring alignment with donor priorities and NRCs programmatic and advocacy goals. Maintain and strengthen relationships with key donors, as delegated. Partnerships: Collaborate with the partnerships focal point to ensure agreements and modifications meet donor requirements. Support the development of NRCโs localization strategy, tools, and partner capacity building, incorporating learning and feedback. Consortia: Support NRCs engagement in consortia, including development of governance frameworks, as delegated by the Head of Programme. Risk Management: Lead due diligence processes for grants and partnerships with the Risk &Compliance team. Provide technical support and training on donor compliance and ensure key grant documentation is audit-ready. Coordination & Representation: Contribute to strategic decision-making through stakeholder engagement, networking, and context analysis. Represent NRC in relevant regional and global grants or partnerships initiatives. Budget Development: In collaboration with the Finance Manager, support the Head of Programmes with the development of top-down budgets, overall proposal budgeting and ensure coherence between budgets, narratives, and donor compliance standards. What you will bringย
Professional Competencies
Three years of relevant experience in donor relations and grants management within a relevant context (e.g., with institutional humanitarian and development donors) Masters level degree in a relevant field or bachelor with relevant experience Experience working in complex environments and with Displacement affected people; Good understanding of donor rules and regulations Knowledge of institutional donorsโ rules, regulations, priorities, and compliance requirements - NMFA, UNHCR, DFID, ECHO etc Proven skills and experience in report and proposal development and working with multiple donors; Willingness to travel to area offices and work in difficult environment according to travel requirements. Excellent written and oral communication skills in both French English.Context Related Skills, Knowledge and Experience
