SG&R will leverage RTI's experience designing and delivering multisectoral programming and technical solutions to respond to climate change, build resilience, and promote economic growth around the world. Project Description. The purpose of the Feed the Future Ethiopia Transforming Agriculture activity is to increase access to healthy diets, particularly for women and children, by improving competitiveness, inclusiveness, and resilience of the Ethiopian food and agriculture system. The project scope targets private sector partnerships engaged in a market systems approach to strengthening the Ethiopian food system. The project collaborates with the Ministry of Agriculture and many other agencies and USAID programs to leverage resources and achieve impact at scale. Position Description The Food Security Manager oversees and implements programs aimed at ensuring people have access to sufficient, nutritious, and safe food. She/He manage planned activities, analyzes data, and reports on food security situations, including the context of government policies, humanitarian or development work, and private sector investments. Responsibilities include needs assessments, project implementation, impact analysis and reporting, and collaborating with stakeholders. The Food Security Manager in collaboration with other project staff will bridge the gap between conventional emergency/humanitarian food security responses and sustainable long-term development solutions by fostering self-resilience through enhanced agricultural productivity and income generation for the purpose of increasing access to healthy diet particularly for women and children. The Food Security Manager will represent Feed the Future Ethiopia Transforming Agriculture Activity with other food security projects through available platforms. What You'll Do Your primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Work closely with DCOP-Technical and Technical Leads to develop and execute project work plans and maintain technical oversight of all food security related, income generation and utilization activities for the purpose of increasing access to healthy and affordable diets, particularly for women and children. Demonstrated technical experience on food security programs with a focus on improving the nutritional status of women and children within USAID Zone of Influence woredas. Conduct assessments to identify food insecurity and livelihood needs of beneficiaries and target communities. Collect, analyze, and report on food security and livelihood situations, including market assessments on ETAโs interventions impact. Manage and oversee the implementation of food security and livelihood activities through agricultural development, and other interventions. Liaise with other implementing partners, public and private sector stakeholders to participate in both national and regional food security taskforces, and present findings that demonstrate sustainable food security responses resulting from ETA's interventions. Collaborating closely with other technical teams significantly enhances the resilience of communities. This collaborative approach ensures the implementation of sustainable food security practices through various project interventions. Maintain ongoing communication with cooperating agencies, implementing partners, donors, and other stakeholders. Contribute to market system and food security project learnings. Lead, supervise, coach the food security specialist, including training, and performance management in a manner that is open and respectful, encourages professional development, and solicits constructive staff input. Any duties and responsibilities assigned by his/her immediate supervisor. What You'll Need Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field (e.g., agriculture, public health, economics) and 8 years of experience, masterโs degree and 6 years of experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in food security, livelihoods, or humanitarian work, preferably in a field setting. Prior experience working on the Feed the Future Ethiopia Transforming Agriculture activity preferred. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Knowledge of food security principles, assessment methodologies, and project management techniques. Proven capacity to collaborate across projects, be flexible, and creative and successfully lead an intercultural team in development and post-conflict contexts. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to communicate effectively, instilling trust and confidence. Strong interpersonal and written and oral presentation skills. Professional fluency in English (both spoken and written) and strong command of Amharic is required, additional local language is a plus
