NORCAP is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as Flagship Project Coordinator. The successful candidate will play a key role in driving the implementation and monitoring of Agenda 2063 flagship projects. This position supports strategic coordination across AU departments and partners, ensuring effective delivery, evaluation, and reporting of high-impact initiatives.

The African Union launched the Second Ten Year Implementation Plan (STYIP) of the ย Agenda 2063. While at the same time the African Union Commission (AUC) is undergoing significant reforms to enhance operational efficiency, strengthen governance, and improve service delivery by institutionalizing Results Based Management were ongoing.ย
OSPD as the Secretary for the Ministerial Follow up Committee for the Implementation of Agenda 2063 has to manage progress, interdependence and evaluate the inclusion of new programs in to the list of Agenda 2063 Flagship Projects. Therefore, the Flagship Project Coordinator should monitor and consolidate the update to the Ministerial follow up Committee structures, should be experienced in the design, management and implementation of complex projects and programmes, cross section of monitoring and evaluation systems to facilitate periodic monitoring, evaluation and reporting on the progress of implementation of the related programmes.
This position shall fall under the supervision of the Head of Division Policy Analysis and Research & Coordinator Agenda 2063 (P5).ย
Main functions
- Manage cross-functional project teams, liaise with flagship managers and coordinators across organs, portfolio departments and RECโs.
Specific Responsibilities
Coordinates the mainstreaming of the Agenda 2063 activities into relevant programs and ensure linkages, synergies and opportunities for overall implementation of Flagship projects.Develop a criterion for evaluation of proposals for enlisting as flagship projects.Establish cross-cutting technical needs, risks, policy and resource needs on matters relating to the implementation of the flagship projects.Coordinates key stakeholders, AU Organs, the Regional Economic Communities, the AU Member States, the African Development Bank, The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa and other Flagship projectsยfinanciers, the civil society, the private sector.Facilitates the high-level political process of the implementation of Flagship projects.ย Determine interlinkages, contradictions to priorities funding and implementation plans of Flagship projects.Contribute to the communication activities to increase visibility and awareness of Flagship projects, including policy and ratification hindrances

Academic Requirements & Relevant Experience
Bachelorโs degree in Statistics, Economics OR Business-related area, Project / Programme Management, Strategy Management field, with 10 yearsโ experience.Or a Masterโs Degree in Statistics, Economics or Business-related area, Business Process Management / Re-engineering, Project / Programme Management, Strategy Management field, with 7 yearsโ experience.Proven experience in Policy Planning, Program Management, Strategy Management, Business Process reengineering.Professional Qualification in Project Management is required.Required Skills
Strong oral, written and presentation skills.Sound decision making.Strong Coordination skills.Good time management and organizational skills.Ability to work across business units/geographies; awareness of embracing workplace diversity and inclusion within an international organizational context.Proficiency in the mission language English. Remuneration:
The salary attached to the position is set at P3 Step 5 inclusive of all allowances for internationally recruited staff.
Tenure of appointment:
The appointment will be made on a contract for a period of one year.
