What we are looking for

Strong technical and strategic financial management experience (Adviser, Manager, Controller) preferably in international projects (5 years' experience). Prior experience with donor engagement donors is desirable: Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (NMFA) and Norad, the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida), and others.ย 

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and service mindedness. A Proactive attitude and ability to work independently and as part of a team with a high degree of flexibility and service attitude. A conscientious and structured person with strong analytical, planning and administrative skills.ย 

Experience from NRC especially working at/coordinating with the country level will be necessary and experience from providing control support to large framework type agreement will be an asset.ย 

Good skill level in Excel, Agresso or a similar ERP system is required

Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Knowledge of Scandinavian languages is an advantage.

University degree or equivalent qualification is required.

What you will do

The purpose of theย Controller role is toย provide financial technical support to the Global Grants Mngt structure, including but not limited to Commercial Contracts, Cycles (NRCs digital grants management tool) and other relevant tools related to resource mobilisation and grant management.ย 

The Controller role would be also responsible forย the financial consolidation and top-level control of the two large framework agreements (NORAD SPA, Sida) including stand-alone Norad development agreement(s), and the flex and RRM funding pots. Additionally, the role would support in the Field Operations managed Private Funds (yearly private funds, NRC Sweden etc) financial control, and in relevant tasks related to the department financial management upon request. ย 

The global Controller is responsible for providing strategic advice and guidance to COs, regional and global project teams to ensure thatย optimal programme strategies, systems, policy, tools and practices are in place, with the goal of delivering relevant, high-quality programming. The role contributes to framework agreements (NORAD SPA, Sida) consolidation of budget proposals and financial reporting including identifying funding opportunities and ensuring donor requirements are met. Furthermore, it provides services and support to COs and regional and global teams by developing and providing internal training and help-desk support.

Key responsibilities;

Responsible for NRCโ€™s work with strategic institutional partners such as NORAD and SIDA, through contribution to quality improvements in donor submissions as well as improved adherence to donor rules and regulations Responsible for providing help desk support to COโ€™s on the strategic framework agreements. Responsible for framework strategic agreements global donor audit and COs consolidation. Responsible for providingย financial technical support to the Global Grants Management structure, conducting financial control checks to budget proposals and financial reporting of projects managed by the Global Grants Management structure. Responsible for providing financial control support to the private fundsโ€™ portfolio managed by the Field Operations department Contribute to the development of financial procedures, tools and efficient financial management approaches for use in global financial grants management. Provide regular Finance analysis and reports for global grants as assigned by the Head of Finance.ย  Support Field Operations Head of Finance in tasks related to the department financial management upon request. Compliance and adherence to NRC policies, guidance and procedures in Finance, and a specific responsibility for the functions policies and procedures.ย
