Observance of delivery deadlines Work LocationRemotely Expected durationUp to 10 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the direct supervision of the Front Office and/or the Collection, Analysis and Sharing Section (CASS) of the IIMM, the Interpreter shall be responsible for providing interpretation from one of the following languages of Myanmar (Burmese, Rohingya and/or Rakhine) into English, and vice versa, including interpretation of meetings, interviews and similar processes, and performing related tasks, as necessary. The Individual Contractor shall at all times maintain strict security and confidentiality of information obtained during the conduct of the assignment: Provide simultaneous interpretation in English and Burmese, Rohingya or Rakhine languages, for the purpose of meetings, interviews, or similar processes. Participating in, and assisting in the preparation and conduct of, missions by the IIMM. Qualifications/special skillsHigh School Diploma or equivalent is required. A minimum of one (1) year of experience in interpreting from one of the languages of Myanmar (Burmese, Rohingya or Rakhine) into English, and vice versa, is required. Experience providing interpretation or translation services in support of criminal investigations or related subjects is desirable. Experience working in field missions within the United Nations Common System or other international organizations is desirable.
