The project objective is to contribute to the national processes of strengthening family farmers in Brazil for poverty reduction and rural revitalization. The outcome is to implement differentiated policies and programs that improve the capacities of the national government, local and family farmers in areas such as ATER (rural extension and technical advisory services), Credit Programs, land access and governance, access to markets and the strengthening of cooperativism.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent reports to the Assistant Representative in FAO Brazil โ Programme.
Technical Focus
Carry out a study containing propositions for the adequacy of regulations and governance instruments, aiming to subsidize the Department of the National Registry of Family Agriculture (DCAF) in the consolidation of the National Registry of Family Agriculture (CAF) as an instrument for identifying Family Farming, as well as to assist in the development of guidance materials in relation to CAF's regulations and governance instruments, ย adapted to the different profiles of users and beneficiaries.
Tasks and Responsibilities
โข ย ย Systematize map and analyze legal and intralegal data in context of the CAF;
โข ย ย Carry out an assessment of the adequacy of legal instruments of standardization for the implementation of the CAF;
โข ย ย Conduct research on normative acts, operational manualsand similar documents, in order to subsidize the elaboration of settings or adequacy of regulations related to CAF;
โข ย ย Technical support in meetings, seminars, especially with rural social movements, whenever requested or upon the need to deepen specific issues related to agroecology and agroecological transition;
โข ย ย Technical support in meetings, seminars and workshops whenever requested or upon need to deepen specific issues related to Family Farming, CAF or the CAF Network, in order to support the preparation of products;
โข ย ย Contribute to the construction of strategies and methodologies to expand the reach of the National Registry of Family Farming;
โข ย ย Support the dialogue with entities representing family farming and social movements with a view to collecting data and information for the development of products;
โข ย ย Analyze, systematize and prepare documents of programs, projects and actions that use CAF, developed by SAF/MDA or in partnership with organs from the government and civil society.

Minimum Requirements ย
โข ย ย University degree in Applied Social Sciences or Agricultural Sciences, according to the CAPES/CNPq knowledge areas table.
โข ย ย Minimum experience of 05 (five) years in management, formulation, implementation and/or analysis of public policies.
โข ย ย Working knowledge of Portuguese and working knowledge of English or Spanish.
โข ย ย National of Brazil or resident of the country with valid work permit.
