About the Congress

The Global Water Operators’ Partnerships (WOPs) Congress is the foremost international gathering dedicated to peer-support partnerships among water and sanitation utilities. Organized by GWOPA/UN-Habitat, the 6th Congress will bring together utility leaders, practitioners, development partners, and stakeholders under the theme “Solidarity in Action: Stronger Utilities for Thriving Cities.”

Call for Expressions of Interest: Sponsorship Support

GWOPA is committed to ensuring diverse, inclusive participation at the Congress. Limited sponsorship support is available to enable the attendance of participants meeting some or all of the below eligibility criteria:

Provide strong justification for sponsorship, and

The applicant’s organization should be currently/recently involved in a Water Operators’ Partnership (WOP)

Participants who will contribute to sessions as speaker, moderator, panellist, or session reporter, but require support and from low- and middle-income countries, and

The applicant’s organization should be a GWOPA institutional member organisation or should apply for institutional membership prior to the travel (submit membership application here) or the applicant should be actively involved as an individual member in GWOPA`s Global Communities of Practice.

Have the official support of their utility/ organisation/ company to represent them at the Congress

Preference will be given to youth and women working for the GWOPA member utilities or their associations. ​

How to Apply

Interested applicants should submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) including:

Full Name, Position, and Organization, Contact Details (email and phone)

Extend to which applicant is meeting the eligibility criteria listed above

A short motivation statement (max 300 words) detailing:

How attending the Congress will benefit your work, utility, and community

Your current involvement in WOPs or capacity-building activities

Indication of financial support required (airfare, accommodation, per diem, or all)

Confirmation of availability to travel to Bonn, Germany, and possession of a valid passport
