IOM provides health support to Rohingya refugees from Myanmar, since the onset of the crisis in 2017 through provision of primary health care and secondary health services in the Refugee camps as well and Health Systems Strengthening in host community.ย
Under the Supervision of the Migration Health Officer, the successful candidate will ย support the management of the MHD Warehouse (medical side) ย and ย the overall stock management medical commodities, supplies and equipment.
The incumbent will be assigned to inter alia, the following tasks:
- Ensure all warehouse transactions are done in line with IOM internal guidelines and close coordination with procurement and supply team.
- Coordinate with relevant offices, units and projects in the supervision of the receiving, storing, packing, kitting, labelling and dispatch of commodities at the are warehouse.
- Work with suppliers to ensure that there is timely delivery of commodities to the warehouse, and that receipts and distributions are done timely.
- Monitor the quality of the storage of commodities in the warehouse, ensuring that right temperature is kept for heat sensitive items such as medicines in accordance with guidelines.
- Monitor the budgetary aspects related to warehouse and stored goods, ensuring bi-annual stock counts are accurately done and efficient records in place.
- Supervise warehouse assistants, to ensure that they maintain protocols, cleanliess of warehouses, and records are kept in order.
- Organize warehouse requirements, rackings, pallets, and ensuring the flow of the warehouse movement is monitored and in order.
- Keep up to date on warehouse facilities, options, and recommend changes in line with the operations demands.
- Monitor stock to ensure that timely distribution to avoid stock outs and expiry of items, implementing first in, first out, first expiry, first out principles.
- Supervise the warehouse staff to ensure that uptodate records of refrigerator temperature twice daily and maintain cold chain for medicines/vaccines as appropriateย
- ย Plan and coordinate capacity building of warehouse staff, and as well relevant NGO partners warehouse staff.
- Act with integrity and professionalism in line with IOM โs Code of Conduct at all times.
- Perform such other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor;
EDUCATION
- High School Diploma with 7 years of relevant experience or,
- Bachelors degree in Business Administration, or related fields with five years of relevant experience.ย
- Medical experience/ Pharmacy/Medical Assistant an added advantage
- Capacity to work independently, efficiently with flexibility
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications โ Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, Outlook:
- Attention to detail, ability to organize paperwork in a methodological way.
EXPERIENCE
- At least 2 years experience managing and supervision of warehouses, handling of medical commodities is an added advantage.
- Good in verbal communication;ย
- Working knowledge with Rohingya, local languages of Chittagong/Coxโs Bazaar are an advantageย
- Ability to supervise staff, monitor and capacity building.
- Previous experience in international organization and working with government stakeholders.
SKILLS
- Demonstratable skills in planning for effective warehouse management and supervision..
- Working with minimal supervision, and high productivity
Languages
IOMโs official languages are English, French, and Spanish.ยREQUIRED
For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written).
DESIRABLE
Working knowledge of Bangla and local language is an added advantage.
