IOM provides health support to Rohingya refugees from Myanmar, since the onset of the crisis in 2017 through provision of primary health care and secondary health services in the Refugee camps as well and Health Systems Strengthening in host community.ย
Under the Supervision of the Migration Health Officer, and overall supervision of the Emergency Health Coordinator, the Senior Project Assistant (Health Operations) will ensure that IOM health operations are running smoothly to ย support for program operations and maintenance, administrative and logistic activities, that support the day-to-day functioning of 36 health facilities, 7 ambulances, dispatch referral unit, in IOMโs area of operations in Coxโs Bazaar District.
The incumbent will be assigned to inter alia, the following tasks:
- Coordinate with field coordinators, health facility incharges and referral hubs on logistic and repairs and maintenance needs on health facility infrastructures, medical equipment and other assets, liaise with infrastructure unit and biomedical technician for assessment and technical support.
- Ensure timely procurement and management of assets for health programme as well as stability of supply activities within regular health intervention and emergency response.ย
- Coordinate with RRRC/CIC, Health Engineering Department (HED) to apply, follow up and obtain approval for construction work, camp pass and liaison/coordination with Rural Electric Board (REB) to facilitate connection and maintenance of electricity at Health facilities.
- Oversee the preparation, dissemination and archiving of correspondents with RRRC, CICs and MOH.
- Support Staff transportation Supervision- which includes planning and monitoring timely movement of health teams to and from health facilities in coordination with safety and security and supply chain units.
- Maintain ongoing tracking of ambulances and appropriate documentation of referrals to promote team awareness and ensure patient safety.
- In coordination with referral hubs and finance unit Prepare and verify financial documentation required to support the referred patients.
- Prepare online purchase requisition, follow up with procurement and Supply Chain to deliver items on time and tracking recording of expenditures appropriately on the different budgets.
- Maintain operation and maintenance tracking database and Provide update to emergency heath coordinator on weekly basis and prepare monthly report.ย
- Perform such other duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Education
- High school diploma with 7 years relevant experience or
Experience:
Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage. Minimum two years of experience in public health programmes, preferably with international organizations and in humanitarian and crisis is an added advantage.ย Working experience in Coxโs Bazar district and/or knowledge of the FDMN/Rohingya refugees will be a plus. Experience in leasing with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations.Skills:

For this position, fluency in English is required (oral and written). Working knowledge of Bangla and local language is an added advantage.
