ย Context ย Working under the overall supervision of Chief of mission and under the Direct supervision of the Head of Office in Katsina,ย the Project Field Associateย will supportย Design projects, monitoring and assisting in the implementation of quick impact projects, specifically focused on WASH and other infrastructure development in Katsina and Zamfara States. This role requires strong organizational skills, the ability to work collaboratively with local communities, and a commitment to delivering projects that enhance community livelihoods under the Conflict Prevention, Crisis Response and Resilience (CPCRR) Programme, led by the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in partnership with Mercy Corps Netherlands (MCN) and the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD).
1.ย ย ย ย Assist in conducting community needs assessments and conducting technical feasibility study for any infrastructure required after the assessment. ย
2.ย ย ย ย Assist in the preparation of project plans, designs, and technical specifications, bill of quantities and tender documents for each technical quick-impact project identified for the community.
3.ย ย ย ย Assist in overseeing and monitoring quick impact projects, specifically in WASH management and other basic infrastructure such as schools, public health facilities, women's centers, irrigation systems, markets, streetlights, solar-powered borehole development, etc.
4.ย ย ย ย Conduct regular site visits to monitor that the contractors and IOM implementing partners execute projects according to engineering specifications, quality standards and timelines.
5.ย ย ย ย Collect and analyze data on project progress and report findings to the head of Sub- office.
Follow-up safety protocols and regulations are adhered to on all project sites and report any safety incidents or concerns to the head of the sub-office immediately.
6.ย ย ย ย Liaise with local communities, stakeholders, and beneficiaries to gather feedback and provide updates on projects.ย
7.ย ย ย ย Facilitate community meetings to discuss project goals, expectations, and gather input for project improvements.ย
8.ย ย ย ย Prepare detailed reports on project progress, including challenges and successes, for submission to the head of the sub-office and stakeholders.
9.ย ย ย ย Maintain accurate records of project expenditures, materials used, and labor employed.
10.ย ย ย ย Support the training of local workers in construction techniques and project management to enhance community capabilities.
11.ย ย ย ย Perform any other duties assigned.

Education
- High school diploma with five years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelorโs degree in in Civil Engineering or a related field with three years of relevant experience or internships in civil engineering, construction
- Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, practices, and methodologies related to infrastructure projects
- Strong computer literacy with an excellent knowledge of Microsoft Offices, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Internet Explorer, Adobe InDesign, Illustrator etc. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, AutoCAD, and other engineering software.
