Your team
Within the The Directorate Maastricht Upper Area Control Centre, The \"Facilities\" service is responsible for the provision of soft and hard facility management and physical security services.
Your role
Your role will be to:
- Write technical specifications, draft designs, estimate budgets, compose plannings, coordinate and/or supervise the implementation of new buildings and/or changes to building infrastructure (refurbishment's, building re-arrangements, replacements and additions), monitor progress and budgets and determine acceptance protocols.
Required qualifications, experience & competencies
Post-secondary education in a relevant area (e.g. Professional Bachelor's degree* (Applied Sciences)) in building architecture or engineering.*A Professional Bachelor is a higher education diploma obtained at a college (hogeschool) and is focused on a specific profession
Internal candidates can check on the intranet to see what level of in-house experience is considered equivalent to educational qualifications where appropriate. A minimum of 8 years of relevant working experience in new constructions and renovations to carry out the described responsibilities.
The following certificates would be considered an advantage when applying and/or will need to be obtained by the end of the probation period:

Brokerโs license Contractorโs license Experience in design, renovation, implementation and maintenance of utility and industrial/mission critical buildings. Experience with maintenance management (industrial/mission critcal buildings). Experience with safety procedures (VCA, Health & Safety Plan, work permits). Experience with project management and project supervision regarding buildings (refurbishment's, building re-arrangements, replacements and additions) Experience in environmental sustainability practices and environmental responsibilities including asbestos and Chromium-6 removal. Technical drafting skills (English). Knowledge of sustainability standards for building projects such as BREAAM, LEED, WELL etc., is considered an advantage. The selected candidate will be offered a contract for a duration of 5 Year(s) in accordance with the provisions of the Staff Regulations governing officials at EUROCONTROL. This contract may be renewed for a total duration of up to nine (9) years, or it may be converted into an undetermined contract. The selected candidate must successfully complete a probationary period of nine (9) months before being established in the post. Internal candidatesIf selected, the person will keep their current type of appointment duration (undetermined or determined).
The internal staff member with a determined contract will be offered, in principle, an appointment for 5 Year(s) with a maximum total duration of 9 years. The successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade set out in this vacancy notice, or if a group of grades has been published for a job level, in principle at the basic grade of the published job level. Candidates declared suitable who are not selected for the post will be placed on a reserve list for similar roles. The reserve list will be valid for one year from the closing date of applications.
