What You'll DoProject Summary The anticipated five-year, $23 million Millennium Challenge Account (MCA)-Belize-funded project, Equipping Secondary Educators Program Partnership, aims to improve the quality of secondary school educational leadership and teaching in Belize through capacity building and providing teaching and learning resources. Position Summary RTI is seeking a Educator Capacity Building Expert who will focus on enhancing the quality of secondary school leadership and teaching by building educator capacity and providing comprehensive teaching and learning resources. This position will be responsible for overseeing the professional development of secondary school leaders and teachers, improving pre-service teacher education, and ensuring the availability of culturally relevant teaching resources. This position will be based in Belize City, Belize and is contingent upon award. Your primary responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Design, develop, and deliver leadership training programs to improve school management, teaching quality, and inclusive practices. Address the needs of structurally excluded students through training on inclusive education practices. Lead the development and implementation of teacher education programs that enhance teaching skills and content knowledge. Ensure programs support the needs of a competency-based curriculum and address the diverse learning needs of all students. Collaborate with stakeholders to revise teacher and school leader training curricula. Develop and implement training for teacher educators to ensure new secondary school teachers are equipped for the competency-based curriculum. Oversee the teaching and learning materials for the curriculum. Build and maintain partnerships with government bodies, educational institutions, and development partners. Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of capacity-building activities and training programs. Provide regular reports on program progress, achievements, and challenges. What You'll NeedMaster's degree in education, curriculum development, educational leadership, or related field with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.Proven experience in designing and implementing educator professional development programs at the secondary education level preferred. Extensive knowledge of competency-based curricula, inclusive education practices, and skills development. Experience working with diverse learning needs, including inclusive education and trauma-informed approaches. Strong leadership, communication, and collaboration skills. Experience working with government and education stakeholders in international development contexts is highly desirable. Prior experience working in Belize or in similar contexts is preferred. Fluency in English and Proficiency in Spanish (written and spoken)
