Visit www.worldbank.org.ย The World Bank office is currently searching for a Driver to provide an effective and efficient day to day logistics transport function for the Office in Yaoundรฉ, Cameroon.ย  S/he will work as part of the office carpool and will drive office vehicles for transport of authorized personnel usually within Yaoundรฉ, Cameroon but also in the surrounding regions and countries. S/he will be responsible for the delivery and collection of mail. S/he will report to the Operations Manager.
Roles and responsibilities:
The Incumbentโ€™s duties include but are not limited to:ย 

Drive the World Bank staff to meetings and business sites.ย Operating World Bank office vehicle (including Armored Vehicle) in a responsible and secure manner.ย Maintain the vehicle in a clean and serviceable condition daily.ย Ensure that the vehicle insurance, registration and general service schedule is up to date.ย Keep an updated vehicle logbook including service and fuel dates; ensure staff sign the logbook.ย Fuel the office vehicle in accordance with the World Bank Group fueling procedures.ย Carry out basic vehicle maintenance and repairs.Able to prevent accidents with high consideration of other road users and be able to demonstrate professional maneuvers.Follow all steps required by the World Bank Road Safety Policy in case of travel and accidentEnsure passengersโ€™ safety and capable of handling emergency situations.Ensure that the vehicle should be fitted with seat belts, fire extinguishers, first aid kit, spare tire(s), jack, wheel spanner, tow rope, jump leads, a set of necessary fan belts and tool kit.ย Ensure that the vehicle should always be in a road worthy condition โ€“ making sure that the vehicle is equipped with a spare tire(s).Daily inspection of vehicle for tire pressure, engine oil, brake fluid, radiator coolant, fuel level, battery water level and any other requirement.ย Strict adherence to the World Bankโ€™s Road Safety Policies and procedures as well as the countryโ€™s National Highway Code.Help with ad hoc administrative tasks at the request of office staff.ย 

Selection Criteria

The candidate will possess a valid driving license and capable of Defensive Driving, l certificate.ย The candidate should have a positive attitude, be diligent, flexible, dressed presentably, and take the initiative to help office staff and guests.ย Must have completed a Senior Secondary School Education or equivalent, computer literate and should be able to communicate effectively in French & English (verbal and written).ย The successful candidate must have at least five (05) years of professional driving experience in a multi-cultural environment with a safe driving record.Thorough knowledge of driving rules and regulations and be conversant with the Road Security Code.Possess basic skills in minor vehicle repairs and maintenance. Vocational training in auto maintenance and repair would be a plus.Knowledge of UN system security procedures and conversation with VHF Radio call will be an added advantage.Ability to pass World Bank security clearance & medical test.Good geographical knowledge of Cameroon and other countries in the sub regionWillingness to drive throughout Cameroon and neighboring countries.Ability to work long hours and weekendsStrong interpersonal skills and commitment to team-oriented work.
