Help make rights real for children in Australia! 54 reasons is looking for a creative and motivated Ux or human centred design specialist with experience working directly with children, young people and their carers to help shape our service offer and improve our client experience.

In this full-time six month contract role, youโll support us to embed user voice and experience into service design and scale our impact in areas where childrenโs rights are not being met deeply or consistently. Youโll do this by:
Championing human centred design across 54 reasons Developing solutions that improve 54 reasonsโ client experience and outcomes โ for tenders, service reviews or pilot programs Leading research and design with children, young people, carers, our staff and delivery partnersA key part of 54 reasonsโ strategy and partnerships team, youโll plan and work with state and territory based operational leaders, internal and external subject matter experts, service delivery partners, as well as our national Practice and Impact Measurement team.

Youโre a creative and skilled self-starter, experienced in human-centred design, service design, social innovation or a related field. Your background in the social services or education sector means that you know what it takes to shift theory into reality and centre the client experience. Youโre engaging and inclusive, bringing teams along with you and communicating in a clear and accessible way to diverse audiences through a range of verbal and visual storytelling tools.
This role requires:
Professional experience in a related role, in social services, education or another social impact organisation that serves children and young people Degree level qualification in a relevant field, or significant equivalent experience Ability to communicate complex ideas simply and effectively to diverse audiences Skilled in running engaging and impactful ideation, research, design or testing workshops with children, families, service delivery partners and/or funders Ability to self-organise and โright-sizeโ to strict timelines, with strong initiative and problem-solving skills and a learning mindset Strong commitment to elevating child rights and child participation in AustraliaA place to belong:
