ContextThe data validation volunteer should have a strong attention to detail and the ability to critically assess the accuracy and reliability of information. Familiarity with basic research methods and the ability to cross-reference data with credible sources is essential. A background in data analysis, research, or social sciences is beneficial. This expertise will be key to ensuring the quality and integrity of youth-related data featured in the Youth factsheets. These factsheets featured on the NextGenYouth platform, provide a comprehensive snapshot of youth realities across the Arab region. They cover essential areas such as demographics, education and literacy, health and well-being, governance and policy engagement, and economic opportunities. By verifying and validating the data presented, volunteers will contribute to maintaining the credibility and usefulness of these factsheets as a trusted reference for policymakers, practitioners, and youth advocates working to drive inclusive and evidence-based development across the region.
Task DescriptionThis task will entail the review and verification of 24 Youth Pulse factsheets โ covering all 22 Arab countries, along with one regional and one global factsheet. These factsheets include key data on youth demographics, education and literacy, health and well-being, governance and policy engagement, and economic opportunities and workforce participation. Each volunteer will be assigned two factsheets to validate and verify. This involves carefully checking that: - all data points match the original sources listed in the factsheet; - statistics (percentages, rankings, figures) are accurate and up to date; - source links are active and lead to credible, relevant references; - indicator definitions (e.g. age range for youth, gender categories) are used consistently; - no data is missing or contradicts other indicators within the same factsheet; - formatting (such as dates, decimals, and percentages) is clear and consistent.
