Organizational Setting
The WHO Country Office in Myanmar, Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI) team is supporting Central Expanded Programme on Immunization (cEPI) of the Department of Public Health under the Ministry of Health (MoH). This collaboration aims to strengthen routine immunization programs, ensure the effective implementation of supplementary immunization activities (SIAs), and provide support for timely and effective outbreak response immunization initiatives.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
The Data Assistant will work Under the general guidance of Medical Officer, EPI Unit, WHO country office Myanmar, the data Assistant will work under the direct supervision of the Director (cEPI), Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health, she/he will be responsible for the following tasks:
- Collect and maintain routine immunization data from 17 States and Regions, including data from the DHIS2 platform.
- Collect and maintain data related to SIAs to ensure accuracy and availability for reporting and planning.
- Enter, compile, and verify outbreak response immunization (ORI) data to support timely outbreak interventions.
- Assist in analyzing routine immunization data for presentations by cEPI and for ad-hoc reports required by the Ministry of Health.
- Maintain Geographic Information System (GIS) boundary files at the township level, including district boundary files for bordering countries.
- Use GIS software to produce maps that display information on immunization programs.
- Assist in the production of data summaries, manuals, guidelines, or other communication materials required by the Central EPI.
- Perform other tasks as assigned by the Director (cEPI), Department of Public Health, Ministry of Health.

The Data Assistant is expected to work as a member of EPI, Myanmar country office team as per assigned TOR, maintaining professional relation and coordination with other technical team of WCO Myanmar as well as at times with external clients who are participating in events. 聽He/She responds to routine queries, requests and receives data, provides information on status of transactions and exchanges a variety of information that is limited to collaborative programmes. Discussion and communication for effective intra and inter team-works are encouraged.
Impact of functions
The Data Assistant ensures smooth procedures in terms of project implementation, arrangements of meetings and field visits and the proper processing and filing of documentation and records.

Educational background
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 University degree
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Information Technology (IT) and Data Management
Professional experience
路聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Minimum three to five years of experience, preferably in any UN organization, International Organization or Government Offices.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well as a team member.
DESIRABLE and knowledge
聽
- Advanced knowledge on Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Suite (MS Access, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint), Knowledge of SQL, GIS mapping and distributive database is essential.
- Knowledge of other advanced public health statistical software an advantage.

Language Skills
