About this position
We are looking for a self-driven, detail-oriented, problem-solver Corporate Accounts National Consultant. As such, you will execute processes related to Corporate Accounts Payable (AP) and Receivable (AR). This team is responsible for providing essential services to the IDB including processing, reporting, and offering technical guidance on accounts payable under the administrative and Capital Budget. They also maintain the vendor and client database, process and report accounts receivable, audit travel and expense reimbursements, and manage billing and collections of capital subscriptions from member countries and donor contributions to trust funds.
You will work in Accounting Division, The Loan and Corporate Accounts Group part of the Finance department. This team is responsible for executing processes related to the Loan back-office and Corporate Accounts Payable and Receivable.
What youโll do
- Contribute to the activities that support the entire accounts payable process, perform validations and analysis to ensure that payments are processed and recorded accurately and efficiently, while adhering to industry best practices and internal policies and controls.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts in the implementation of special projects and system enhancements that impact the AP and AR processes, including the implementation of S/4Hana.
- Participate in the maintenance efforts of AI tools and robotic process automation initiatives that impact the AP process, ensuring optimal performance.
- Perform data and business process analysis, make recommendations for improvement, and implement solutions.
- Collaborate with the Business Partner Data master management and improvement initiatives.
- Participate and contribute to the maintenance activities of the vendor portal, assist with the implementation of roll out and onboarding activities, participate in user acceptance testing of enhancements and support other related activities.
What you'll need
โข Education: Bachelorโs degree (or equivalent advanced degree) in Accounting, Business, Finance, or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role is required. CPA/CFA and/or Master's in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field is a plus.
โข Experience: At least 2 years of progressive experience in public accounting (preferably Big Four accounting firms), International Organizations, or Financial Institutions. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets or business processes improvements. Knowledge of SAP is desired.
โข Languages: Proficiency in Spanish and English, spoken and written, is required. Additional knowledge of French and Portuguese is preferable.
โข Soft skills: Result-driven, collaborative, innovative, client-oriented, strong communicator, self-motivated, eager to learn, and excellent time management.
โข Technical skills: Advance knowledge in querying and reporting, PowerBi, PowerAutomate as well as a good understanding of relational data bases. Uses analytical tools and mathematical processes to empirically analyze and evaluate data and information. Knowledge of tools such as MS Project, SQL, Python or other programming, analytics tools are strongly desired

โข Citizenship: You must be a citizen of one of our 48-member countries, and a citizen or permanent resident of a country where the IDB has a Country Office.
โข Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
โข Remote modality: The selected candidate will not provide services from the Bankโs office and will not be provided a physical space on the premises of the Bankโs Country Office. The candidate selected will be responsible for setting up the space, and for having the equipment, internet, and phone accesses to accomplish these TORs, outside the Bankโs office. Access to the Bankโs systems will be arranged in coordination with the Bank.
