Background:

The International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) is conducting a comprehensive and up-to-date mapping at the subnational level of key development programs and interventions from major Donors and other institutions in Guatemala. IFPRI seeks a Consultant for a 6-month appointment in its Markets, Trade, and Institutions Unit, between July 1 2025 and December 31, 2025, to collaborate in the study. The consultant will actively support the coordination and facilitation of activities with multiple Donors and other institutions in the country to ensure the effective collection and compilation of project and administrative data. The consultant will play a key role in ensuring effective communication with all institutions and other key informants, including enabling meetings and interviews. The consultant will also identify and facilitate accessing and compiling additional up-to-date subnational data of interest from the public and private sector that will be complemented with the Donor data. The position requires strong organizational skills, familiarity with Donor engagement processes, and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders. The position will be remote and does not require any work travel.

Scope of Work:

Engage with and facilitate coordination and collaboration among multiple Donors.

Support the mapping of additional key actors on development issues from both the public and private sector.

Facilitate and coordinate meetings with key informants from the public and private sector.

Identify and facilitate access to and compilation of relevant sub-national data.

Required Qualifications:

Graduate studies in Social Sciences, Development, or related fields plus ten or more years of professional experience in these fields.

Fluency in spoken and written Spanish.

Demonstrated professional experience engaging with multiple stakeholders from the public and private sector in Guatemala.

Extensive working experience on development topics in Guatemala.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to work independently and with initiative.

Preferred Qualifications:

Working experience on food security and nutrition and rural development in Guatemala.

Experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods.

Fluency in spoken and written English.
