Organizational Setting

 

The Director General's Office (DGO) provides leadership and coordination for all IAEA activities at the executive level for meeting Member States' needs, and achieving a one-house approach and a results-based management.

 

 

Main Purpose

 

Reporting to Chief of Ethics, the consultant will provide technical expertise on various activities relating to the Ethics function.

 

Functions / Key Results Expected

 

Under the supervision and guidance of the Chief of Ethics, the consultant will perform following tasks:

Manage case intake, including maintaining the case Ethics records and matters log, creating file folder for cases maintaining electronic repository of documents and reports, following up proactively with Ethics staff, as needed.

Design and generate a variety of reports, statistical tables, graphic content, and other background materials/notes to facilitate inspection and other reviews.

Collaborate with other areas within the organization to improve the current case management system.

Provide technical expertise and advice staff of the Ethics function in the implementation of the annual Declaration of Interest process.

Support the clearance process of annual report, and coordinate with editor, translation services, etc. on finalization and publication of mandated reports in multiple languages.

Contribute to the internal Ethics functions and processes to ensure timely delivery of set activities and services.

Provide technical input to the Chief of Ethics with research and drafting on issues relating to the Standards of Conduct for the International Civil Service, including case law research/analysis.

Researching UN system policies and practices relevant to the work of the Ethics Function, to help identify trends and best practices.

Contribute to the management and enhancement of the Ethics intranet site, including development of digital outreach materials on a range of topics, and updates to the Chatbot.

Develop and delivery of innovative awareness-raising and training materials and initiatives.

Act as an initial contact point for staff wishing to engage with the Ethics function, including scheduling meetings for the Chief of Ethics as required. 

Provide technical input to the staff of the Ethics function in compiling data for reporting purposes.

Qualifications and Experience

University degree (bachelor) in ethics, law, compliance, international relations, employee relations or related field with good academic record.

Minimum one year of relevant experience in ethics, law, oversight or human resources. 

Experience working with an international organisation is an advantage. 

Strong teamwork, communication and excellent drafting and analytical skills.

Excellent oral and written command of English. Knowledge of other official IAEA languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish) is an asset.

 

 

 

 

Remuneration

The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 150, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent.
