  • IOM works to promote international cooperation on migration issues, to assist in the search for practical solutions to migration problems, and to support the systematic and humane management of migration in order to provide humanitarian assistance to migrants in need.
  • The โ€˜Promoting Sustainable and Socially Inclusive Labour Market Integrationโ€™ project aims to increase formal employment of Syrians under Temporary Protection, Persons under International Protection and host community members and strengthen the harmonization process in Tรผrkiye.
  • Under the mentioned project, IOM will conduct data collection activities in the field in close coordination with projectโ€™s stakeholders, including the Presidency of Migration Management and Ministry of Labour and Social Security, in order to identify the skills needed (with a demand-supply approach) in key sectors and occupations in the local labour market, and to identify the causes of spatial density in selected provinces.
  • The consultant (team leader) will be reporting to IOM and will work under direct supervision of IOMโ€™s senior project associate and field coordinator. ย  Organizational Department / Unit to which the Consultant is contributing

      • Oversee daily activities of enumerators, ensuring adherence to data collection protocols and schedules
      • Assign locations to enumerators and monitor their progress
      • Conduct quantitative and qualitative interviews in the field with individuals from both host and migrant communities
      • Supervise and be accountable for the process of data collection performed by the enumerators throughout the province of responsibility
      • Provide real-time feedback and guidance to enumerators on data quality issues
      • Conduct field visits with project associates
      • Utilize established mobile data collection tools
      • Submit daily updates on progress, challenges, and observations
      • Maintain liaison with community members and local authorities for the purpose of access to the field and coordination
      • Perform any other duties assigned by the direct supervisor. Education
        • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Migration Studies, International Relations, Social Sciences, Development Studies, International Affairs, or a related field from an accredited institution Experience
          • Previous experience in field data collection, surveys or assessments
          • Prior experience working with migrants, refugees, or displaced populations is a strong advantage
          • Experience using digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK) is desirable Skills
            • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
            • Cultural sensitivity and ability to interact respectfully with people from different backgrounds
            • Ability to adapt to dynamic field conditions Languages
              • Fluency in Turkish
              • Proficiency in Arabic, Dari, Pashto, or Farsi is an asset depending on target populations IOMโ€™s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
