DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES 
 Under the supervision of the Head, Space Programme Section (SPC), the incumbent will perform the following duties: 
1. Expert Support to National Focal Points on RF Matters:
 - Assist national focal points on RF matters in developing the expertise and skills necessary to fulfil their roles, as outlined in their Terms of Reference. 
 - Address technical inquiries from national focal points on RF matters through correspondence and online meetings, as needed. 
 - Support the WMO Secretariat in implementing the engagement strategy for national focal points on RF matters. 
 - Contribute to training activities for national focal points, including organizing online meetings on a regional basis.
2. Participation in ITU-R Meetings, representing WMO interests:
 - In consultation with the WMO Expert Team on Radio Frequency Coordination (ET-RFC), prepare for and participate in ITU-R Working Parties (e.g., WP7C) and other relevant meetings, representing WMO and its interests in discussions. 
3. Support to the WMO Secretariat on RF-Related issues: 
 - Assist the WMO Secretariat in the preparation, participation, and follow-up activities of the WMO ET-RFC. 
 - Review technical documents and publications, as requested by the WMO Secretariat.      QUALIFICATIONS 
     Education 
 Master's degree or Equivalent in meteorology, oceanography, earth, physical or natural sciences, or closely related fields. 
     Experience 
 A minimum of 10 years of experience in radio frequency related activities, international collaboration in the context of the Radiocommunication Sector of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU-R), and in particular of the Radiocommunication Study Groups, on frequency matters pertaining to meteorological and related activities, as well as knowledge of the WMO framework. 
     Other requirements  
 ITU Radio Regulations, use of radio spectrum for meteorological and related activities, key principles of spectrum management, activities related to preparations for WRCs. 
  Languages 
 Excellent knowledge of English (both oral and written). Knowledge of other official languages of WMO would be an advantage.
