NRC is currently implementing the Baxnaano Phase II Shock Responsive Safety Net Project in collaboration with WFP inย Galmudug State, specifically inย Dhusamareb, Hobyo, and Abudwak. The project focuses on mobilizing communities, supporting the enrolment process via the national social registry, and delivering unconditional cash transfers to selected vulnerable households. The project promotes inclusion, transparency, and coordination with local authorities and community structures.

Theย Community Mobilizer will work closely with Village Relief Committees (VRCs), the Scope Registrars, and NRC technical teams (LFS, M&E, Community Engagement), to ensure smooth, community-centered implementation.

Duties and Responsibilities

Conduct community mobilization and sensitization meetings in Abudwak with elders, local authorities, and civil society. Inform beneficiaries about entitlements, assistance duration, and key project messages. Support VRCs in recalling and applying beneficiary selection criteria. Collaborate with LFS and MEL teams during verification and follow-up inquiries. Facilitate manual beneficiary registration in coordination with Scope Registrars and VRCs. Monitor implementation challenges in target locations and raise community concerns. Assist in fingerprinting, support vocational trainings, or small-scale infrastructure rehabilitation where applicable. Act as an accountability focal person; promote and manage NRCโ€™s Complaint and Feedback Mechanism (CFM). Conduct community perception monitoring and submit weekly accountability updates. Support market price data collection and share monthly updates with LFS team. Ensure NRC visibility materials are installed in project locations. Regularly update the LFS programme team on contextual changes or emerging issues. Perform other tasks assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

Secondary school certificate or equivalent; additional training in social sciences is an asset. Minimum 1 year of experience in community mobilization or related work, ideally in Galmudug. Strong interpersonal and communication skills in Somali and basic English. Experience working with IDPs, minority groups, and womenโ€™s associations. Familiarity with humanitarian principles and the local context of Galmudug. Qualified applicants from Abudwak are strongly encouraged to apply.
