Position Title: Community Giving Associate
Position Classification: Regular; Full Time; Exempt; 40 hours/week
Reports to: Manager of Community Giving
Location: Remote possible, Boston preferred
Position Overview
The Community Giving Associate is an integral member of the Community Giving team who will support fundraising, cultivation, acquisition, and stewardship activities critical to meeting annual revenue and donor goals. The Associate will have a special focus on growing and maintaining employee and community engagement programs, including state/local/federal employee giving, third-party platform fundraising, private sector employee giving, and community-based fundraising and external events. They will work closely with the Manager of Community Giving and integrate with the Private Sector Partnerships, Digital Engagement, Donor Engagement, and PIH Engage teams to implement new processes that enhance the connectedness for supporters and/or prospects giving indirectly to Partners In Health (PIH), while also positioning PIH for broader brand awareness. They will also manage the PIH Speakers Corp initiative to ensure PIHโs ability to support and participate in community-led events in support of our mission. They will support additional community giving team activities including the integrated direct mail and SMS programs and will provide high-level and back-up donor support coverage.
Responsibilities:
Indirect Giving / Community Engagement (60%)
- Create and implement new and meaningful ways to steward workplace donors and develop resources to connect them more deeply with PIH. Partner with members of the Private Sector Partnerships team to ensure close alignment between employee and corporate engagement strategies with a shared goal of maximizing employee and corporate support.
- Assess, maintain, and build on current engagement strategy for community giving level donors and prospects, including donors and fundraisers supporting through indirect channels such as workplace, social media, and academic/faith-based community events.
- Maintain current and explore new indirect giving opportunities and charity oversight organizations. Fulfill light reporting requirements, provide updated marketing materials, and maintain PIH profiles on third-party giving platforms.
- Partner with CRM and Gift Administration teams to improve data tracking and reporting systems for indirect giving revenue; Build and implement universal and consistent standard operating procedures and business rules and monitor to ensure data integrity. Utilize data to inform strategy direction.
- Serve as internal and external point of contact for PIH Speakers Corp. Prioritize incoming requests and match with appropriate speakers, maintain inventory of event materials and ensure resources for speakers are updated, facilitate collection and entry of data from events as well as follow-up activities. Facilitate professional development opportunities for Speakers Corps members and recruit new participants as needed.
General team support (40%)
- Work closely with the Manager of Community Giving and agency partner to successfully execute annual direct mail plan, collaborating with Marketing and Communications, signers, and Leadership Giving as necessary.
- Build, execute, and analyze SMS campaigns in partnership with Senior Director of Annual Giving, Manager of Community Giving, and agency partners.
- Assist with complicated or sensitive donor support inquiries and during high volume time periods, ensuring quality, accurate, and timely responses to all supporter and public inquiries.
- Support building and maintenance of automated donor journey processes for community giving donors and indirect donors, including welcome experience and other stewardship and cultivation efforts.
Qualifications:
- At least 3+ years professional experience required; a minimum of 2 years working in the nonprofit development field preferred.
- Ability to communicate effectively with varied internal and external constituencies.
- Solid computer skills, including fluency in Microsoft Office and strong capacity in Salesforce Marketing Cloud or similar customer relationship management systems.
- Attentive to detail, able to manage multiple tasks in a deadline driven environment.

Pay and Benefits
The expected starting salary range for new hires in this position is between $55,000-65,000/year and may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market for the position, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The position belongs to a class of roles that have a salary range between $50,000-70,000/year. Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable plans then in effect, eligible employees may enroll in a 401(k) plan with automatic employer contribution, as well as participate in organization-sponsored medical, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability insurance, and basic life insurance plans for the employee and the employeeโs eligible dependents.
