Mission and objectivesUN Women is the United Nations entity dedicated to gender equality and the empowerment of women. A global champion for women and girls, UN Women was established to accelerate progress on meeting their needs worldwide. UN Women supports UN Member States as they set global standards for achieving gender equality, and works with governments and civil society to design laws, policies, programmes and services needed to ensure that the standards are effectively implemented and truly benefit women and girls worldwide. It works globally to make the vision of the Sustainable Development Goals a reality for women and girls and stands behind womenโs equal participation in all aspects of life.
ContextUN Women implements programmes and projects that aim to advance gender equality, improve womenโs access to rights and services in political, social and economic life and combat gender stereotypes, discrimination and violence, as required by international and national legal and policy commitments. UN Women collaborates with numerous partners, including central and local level government authorities, civil society organizations, womenโs organizations and platforms, academia, private sector companies and other UN agencies. It commits itself to the Leaving No One Behind principle, by supporting targeted actions to remove the obstacles that marginalized and vulnerable groups of women face in accessing their rights and to promote them as agents of change. Key approaches include the provision of thought leadership and policy advice, capacity development and technical assistance, multi-stakeholder partnerships, and advocacy and communications. UN Women Tรผrkiye Country Office positions communications and advocacy as an important pillar for the implementation of its programmes. UN Women advocates for gender equality and womenโs empowerment through diverse communications tools and activities. UN Women Tรผrkiye runs online and offline campaigns on Europe Paralympic Games, 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Based Violence, International Womenโs Day and International Day of the Girl Child. The online Volunteer will support the development, implementation and evaluation of the online campaigns and ensure the provision of relevant, timely and creative content and assets.
Task DescriptionUnder the delegated authority and supervision of the Country Office Communication Team, the online Volunteers will undertake the following task for assisting in amplifying messages through social media campaigns: - Draft and edit compelling, accurate content for social media posts and UN Women Tรผrkiye website. - Create 8 visually appealing graphics, social media visuals, or infographics using tools such as Canva, Adobe Ilustrator. - Create 6 short videos for the purposes of the social media - Ensure all content and graphic materials adheres to UN Women communication guidelines and standards.
