The consultant will contribute to the operationalization of flagship strategic communication initiatives, including the DCO LAC Visibility & Strategic Communications Strategy and the regional UN Voice Narrative Toolkit, while supporting high-level thought leadership and field engagement across the RC system. Duties and Responsibilities: A. Communications and Visibility โข Support the implementation of the DCO LAC Visibility & Strategic Communications Strategy, with a focus on showcasing Resident Coordinator leadership and measurable country-level transformations. โข Contribute to the development and dissemination of flagship stories aligned with SDG targets and regional priorities for publication by early 2026. โข Support the operationalization and roll-out of the regional UN Voice Narrative Toolkit, including coordination of RC-level coaching and tailored communication support starting Q1 2026. โข Draft and edit quarterly op-eds and strategic reflections by the Regional Director, highlighting system-wide repositioning and policy influence in LAC. โข Develop high-quality written and multimedia content, including press releases, newsletters, feature stories, and human-interest pieces. โข Manage and expand the officeโs digital presence across platforms and channels, ensuring consistency with regional and global messaging. โข Support the coordination of communication activities with RCOs and UN Communication Groups to support visibility and coherence across UNCTs. B. Reporting and Results Management โข Prepare compelling and visually engaging results reports, dashboards, infographics, and presentations for internal and external audiences. โข Ensure alignment with global SDG frameworks and corporate reporting standards. โข Contribute to the preparation of a quarterly bulletin tracking UN80 developments, providing updates, guidance, and action points for field leadership, with the first issue launched by July 2025. C. Knowledge Management and Capacity Support โข Support knowledge capture, synthesis, and dissemination of lessons learned and good practices across the region. โข Maintain an organized repository of strategic communications, reporting products, and knowledge tools. โข Facilitate peer-to-peer learning and collaboration among RCOs through digital platforms and regional exchanges. Qualifications/special skillsโข University degree in communications, journalism, international development, data science, or a related field. โข Minimum of 2 years of relevant professional experience in strategic communications, data management, and/or reporting. โข Proven ability to develop and manage digital content, communication platforms, and knowledge products. โข Strong analytical and data visualisation skills (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Excel). โข Familiarity with the SDG framework and UN development coordination architecture. โข Demonstrated capacity to work in a multicultural, fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
