Under the guidance and direct supervision and day-to-day management of the Deputy Resident Representative, the Communications Officer supports the formulation and implementation of the communication and advocacy strategies tightly linked to the programmatic priorities, helping position the Country Office as a leader in development solutions in ways that boost demand for various service lines and increase overall funding opportunities.
The Communications Officer increases the standing and awareness of UNDP with partners, the media and the public and promotes a client-oriented approach in UNDP.
S/he works in close collaboration with the Programme and Operations teams in the Country Office, staff of other UN Agencies, UNDP Communications Group staff (Regional Communications Adviser and HQ), Government officials, national and international media, multilateral and bilateral donors and civil society.

ย Required Skills and Experience:ย ย
ย Education: Masterโs degree or equivalent degree in Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, International Relations, Political Sciences or other social sciences is required, OR; Bachelorโs degree or equivalent in the areas stated above, in combination with an additional two years of qualifying experience will be given due consideration in lieu of the advanced university degree. Experience: Minimum 2 years (with Masterโs degree) or 4 years (with Bachelorโs degree) of experience in Public Relations, Communications, Outreach, or Advocacy at the national level or international level.
Requiredย Skills:
Experience in research, writing, design and production of communication assets, such press releases, reports and publications; Proven experience in managing communications functions in an international organization or UN Agency; Proven experience in strategic communications and developing communication strategies; Experience in the usage of computers and office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc.) and in handling of web-based management system.Desired Skills:
Previous experience with a multilateral or international organizations as well as UN Agencies; Experience in organizing events, webinars, launches of publications, seminars, conferences and global campaigns; Experience with digital and online communications, including content creation and management of social media, websites and online platform management; Experience in developing informative blogs, feature articles, impact/human interest stories and social media posts.Required Languages:
