INTRODUCTION TO GGGI

The Global Green Growth Institute internship program provides a unique learning opportunity for students and recent graduates from diverse academic backgrounds. The program is designed for talented and motivated individuals skilled in areas relevant to GGGIโ€™s operations. The program allows selected candidates to gain insight into the work of the Institute and provides assistance and training in various professional fields in a multicultural environment. BACKGROUND

The Association of Development Finance Institutions in the Pacific (ADFIP) is a regional platform working to strengthen the capacity and collaboration of national development banks to deliver inclusive, climate-resilient finance.

ADFIPโ€™s engagement work is supported under the Greening the Pacific Financial Systems (GPFS) program, implemented by the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) with funding from the Agence Franรงaise de Dรฉveloppement (AFD).

The GPFS initiative is a regional effort to integrate climate risk and green finance into financial systems across the Pacific. It supports central banks, development finance institutions, and regulators in policy development, capacity building, and regional knowledge exchange. ADFIP plays a critical convening role for its members under the GPFS programme.

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

To enhance its visibility and deepen engagement with members and stakeholders, ADFIP is seeking an intern to support digital communications, coordination activities, and content delivery.

The assignment will include the followings but not limited to:

Enhance ADFIPโ€™s Digital Presence

- Maintain and update the ADFIP website (WordPress or similar CMS)

- Develop and implement a monthly social media content calendar (LinkedIn, Facebook)

- Produce visual and written content aligned with ADFIPโ€™s climate finance objectives

Coordinate Member Engagement and Internal Communications

- Animate the ADFIP member community through regular engagement activities

- Manage and update ADFIPโ€™s mailing lists and contact database

- Coordinate member spotlights, surveys, and regular email communications

- Support the collection and dissemination of member updates, news, and case studies

Support Knowledge Sharing and Regional Dialogue

- Assist in organizing ADFIP webinars, including logistics, speaker coordination, and follow-up documentation

- Contribute to the planning of the ADFIP meetings, and any related workshops or technical events

- Support preparation of background notes, summaries, and communications collateral

Support Branding and Repositioning

- Contribute to ADFIPโ€™s rebranding activities by updating templates, communications kits, and visual identity

- Track and report on online engagement and visibility metrics

ELIGIBILITY

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must at the time of application meet the following requirements:

Be enrolled in a Bachelorโ€™s (final year), Masterโ€™s or PhD program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months. Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to the Instituteโ€™s work. Possess an excellent command of English.

QUALIFICATION
Prior experience with digital communications, social media campaigns, or content creation- Strong command of Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent tools Excellent command of English including writing and editing skills. Knowledge of French will be an considered an advantage given the broader francophone engagement in the Pacific. Ability to manage tasks independently and coordinate remotely across time zones Understanding of climate finance, development finance, or regional cooperation is an advantage.

SELECTION PROCESS
Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered. GGGI evaluates applications based on: eligibility requirements, relevance of academic study and work experience (if any); and the level of interest and motivation to contribute to development work. Due to high volume of applications, only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.

The intern will report to the ADFIP Secretariat, hosted by GGGIโ€™s Pacific Regional Office, with day-to-day oversight from the GPFS coordination team, and close collaboration with the AFD Group Office in Fiji. Orientation, weekly check-ins, and a midterm review will be conducted to ensure strong alignment with deliverables.

TEMRS AND CONDITIONS

Duration: The internship program is for at least three months and up to six months. Once selected, interns must begin their internship either prior to or within 12 months of graduation.

Stipend: GGGI interns receive a monthly stipend of USD $500 per month (unless agreed to be funded by sponsoring institutions). All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns themselves or sponsoring institutions.

Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.

Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.

Medical Insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI upon returning the signed internship contract.

Confidentiality: Interns must keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.

Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.

Working Hours: interns are expected to work during normal working hours. Leave should be pre-approved by the Intern Manager, and the latter should inform the Office of HR accordingly.

Learning Outcomes: before completion of the internship, Intern Managers are expected to review the learning outcomes with the intern.

Certificate: provided upon successful completion of the internship, upon request.
