Result of ServiceThe consultant will contribute to the work of the UNECE Secretariat by: • Review and input into the draft reports, publications and articles on the project, 60 pages in English; • Write news, articles, PRs and content of the project’s website, 80 pages in English; • Design and create social media posts, content for the website, flyers and posters, Microsoft PowerPoint presentations for the project, publications, events and activities, 60 pages in English; • Regularly updated website content; • Graphic designs for various communication materials, as needed. Work LocationGeneva Expected duration6 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesUnder the supervision of the UN4UkrainianCities Project Manager, the consultant will support the implementation of the project “UN4UkrainianCities - Enhancing capacity and cooperation for sustainable urban development in Ukraine”. The consultant will be responsible for managing the continuous content updates of the dedicated UN4UkrainianCities website and social media platforms. Under the project, the consultant will support the secretariat in communication and dissemination of project information and results through the preparation and implementation of a communication/social media campaign including social media posts (for LinkedIn, Facebook, X-Twitter, and Instagram), write articles and press releases, content for the project website and conducting interviews producing videos to showcase project outcomes. The Communication Specialist will be responsible for the following tasks: 1. Website Content Management: • Regularly update website content to reflect organizational updates, events, and news. • Ensure the website is user-friendly, visually appealing, and optimized for search engines. 2. Public Relations: • Draft press releases, media advisories, and other communication materials. 3. Social Media Management: • Develop and implement social media strategies across platforms such as Facebook, X (Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn. • Create engaging content, including posts, graphics, and videos, to increase audience engagement and reach. • Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and facilitate online discussions. 4. Graphic Design: • Design graphics for social media posts, website banners, newsletters, templates, flyers and other promotional materials. • Graphic design for publications, including reports and project proposals. • Create templates for presentations, word documents, etc. • Ensure consistency in branding and visual identity across all communication materials. Qualifications/special skillsAn advanced university degree (Master’s or Doctorate degree, or equivalent) in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, digital media, graphic design, or a related field is required . A first-level degree (Bachelor’s degree or equivalent) in the specified fields of studies with two additional years (7 total years) of relevant work experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Minimum 5 years of professional experience in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, digital media, graphic design, or a related field.
