Under the direct supervision of the Communications coordinator, the candidate is expected to support communications activities, including researching, designing and writing content related to IOM Brazil’s activities for the Organization’s social media accounts. The candidate will contribute to the implementation of creative communication strategies, marketing activities and robustly position the organization as the leader in protecting and assisting migrants. 

  1. Support the development and implementation of the Communications strategy, especially on social media. 
  2. Plan and support the development and execution of integrated marketing campaigns across digital and traditional channels, ensuring alignment with the organization objectives.
  3. Drive strategic online marketing campaigns and optimize digital experiences to enhance engagement (direct and through partners), brand visibility, and organization growth.
  4. Develop and plan IOM Brazil’s social media products.
  5. Identify key influencers to boost brand awareness and online engagement.
  6. Monitor relevant discussions of migration related issues on social media.
  7. Provide data driven recommendations to improve engagement and conversion rates.
  8. Provide overall support with research and fact-checking to produce communication material.
  9. Capture images in photo and video. 
  10. Support administrative processes related to communications.
  11. Stay abreast of new design and social media trends and delivers create and innovative ideas.
  12. Perform any other duties as may be needed.   Education
    • High School Diploma, with a minimum of 4 (four) years of relevant work experience; or
    • University degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related areas by an accredited university, with a minimum of 2 (two) years of relevant work experience. Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.   Experience
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to prepare clear and concise products.
      • Expertise in campaign execution, digital marketing, and data-driven decision-making to create seamless and impactful digital interactions across multiple platforms
      • Be an active social media user and stay up to date with the latest trends in online content.
      • Knowledge in the field of migration is an advantage.
      • Knowledge of graphic design is an advantage.   Languages
        • Required: English (writing and oral) and Portuguese
        • Knowledge of Spanish will be considered an advantage. IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
