A communications Consultant at UNOPS is responsible for supporting the implementation of communication plans to support project goals, creating various communication materials, including social media plans and content and ensuring the visibility of UNOPS work. They also play a key role in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of communication efforts as needed. Functional Responsibilities
1. Contribute to the implementation of projectsโ communication plans through:

Assisting in ensuring that donor visibility and communication requirements are met.

Managing a content calendar for various communication channels.

Producing visibility material in line with the communicationsโ plans.
2. Creating Communication Materials:

Collecting relevant data and updates and producing and/or supporting the design of the visibility material.

Writing and producing various communication materials, including: Media release, onsite visibility material, news stories, projects and countriesโ profiles,
-
Gathering information from various sources to assess news values and potential impact
-
Developing layouts and graphic design for various communication materials.
3. Creating social media content

Collecting relevant data and updates for the production material for promoting on social media

Developing bi-weekly social media plan
-
Monitoring and evaluating UNOPS MR, Yemen and Jordan X accounts performance and suggesting improvements once a month
4. Monitoring and Evaluation:
-
Evaluating the effectiveness and impact of external communication activities.

Tracking, researching, and analyzing information on assigned topics/issues.
5. Other Responsibilities:

Identifying and proposing information opportunities and activities.

Ensuring compliance with UNOPS visibility requirements and professional standards.

Contributing to the development of website content and online resources.

Keep the Hub library up-to-date through collecting projectsโ visibility material

A Bachelorโs degree in Business Administration, Communications, Marketing, Public Administration, Management, International Development, Social Sciences, Public Relations,or related field is required.

Advanced university degree (Master degree or equivalent) in the above-mentioned disciplines or related field is desired and may substitute some of the required years of experience.
b. Work Experience
A minimum of 2 years of experience (or less depending on academic credentials) of relevant work experience in communications and visibility roles.
โ Familiarity with donor visibility guidelines is an asset.
โ Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English (knowledge of Arabic is an asset).
โ Knowledge of UN policies, procedures, and operations is an asset, and experience of working in the UN/ International Organization is desired.
โ Experience in working with the G-Suite platform including, Google Drive, Google Calendar, Gmail, Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides is desired
