These in-country programs, together with global products and services, focus on delivering results through an integrated approach of evidence-based green growth planning and implementation aligned to countriesโ development priorities. The organization also focuses on knowledge development and management activities, which build a strong theoretical and empirical basis for green growth, while providing concrete options and guidance for policymakers, as well as building the conditions for public and private green infrastructure investments.
GGGIโs Caribbean portfolio currently includes county programs in the Dominican Republic and Guyana as well a program supporting Eastern Caribbean States managed out of the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Commission in Saint Lucia. All GGGIโs Caribbean programs provide embedded advisory support to member governments aimed at developing effective policies and strategic plans and mobilizing sustainable finance for implementation of priority plans and projects.
GGGI is seeking a Communications and Knowledge Sharing Senior Assistant who understands the Eastern Caribbean/OECS circumstances and socio-environmental norms and can effectively leverage his/her communications skills to ensure visibility and awareness of GGGIโs program of work in the region.
POSITION SUMMARY
The Communication and Knowledge Sharing Senior Assistant is an entry level position. As a member of GGGIโs Eastern Caribbean country office, the Senior Assistant will support the implementation of audience centric communication and knowledge plans focusing on brand visibility, impact and insight storytelling and knowledge sharing.
He/she will be based in Castries, Saint Lucia, and report directly to the Eastern Caribbean Program Officer with additional supervision from the Caribbean Representative and the Regional Communications Senior Associate. As part of GGGIโs global team, the Communication and Knowledge Sharing Senior Assistant will interact with the GGGIโs and the OECS Commissionโs experts to fulfill the objectives of the program. S/he will work on a multidisciplinary team of professionals, including GGGI staff and consultants.
PURPOSE
The Communication and Knowledge Sharing Senior Assistant will support GGGIโs Eastern Caribbean Office by elaborating and executing communication and knowledge sharing plans and content that effectively promote the achievements, lessons learned and impacts of GGGI-supported projects. The role involves brand visibility, content creation, digital and social media management, event support, and liaising with stakeholders to enhance public awareness of GGGIโs work in the Eastern Caribbean.
ENGAGEMENT
The Communications and Knowledge Sharing Assistant is expected to:
Engage and receive instruction from the Eastern Caribbean Program Officer, the Caribbean Representative, the Regional Communications Senior Associate
Engage Project Managers and respond to communications requests in support of project visibility and knowledge sharing
Engage government and private sector stakeholders at various levels in support of communications and knowledge sharing initiatives
Execute a communication and knowledge sharing plan to enhance the public awareness of GGGI in the Eastern Caribbean
Develop strong working relationships with the Communication and Knowledge Sharing teams in the the Latin America & Caribbean Regional Office and Global Headquarters to ensure the reach of Eastern Caribbean communications at regional an global level, and facilitate the implementation Headquarters and Regional Office communications campaigns in the Eastern Caribbean.
DELIVERY
Support the design and implementation of the GGGI Eastern Caribbean communication and knowledge sharing plan.
Elaborate communications content and promotional materials that engages government stakeholders, development donors and partners, and internal GGGI audiences.
Elaborate high-quality written material including press releases, event summaries, project fact sheets, reference sheets, country brochure. social media posts, case studies, and success stories,
Apply graphic design skills and tools to produce create multimedia content, including photos, videos, and infographics, for use in reports, websites, and social media as per donors and GGGIโs guidelines.
Ensure all communications and knowledge sharing materials and products adhere to GGGIโs branding and publications guidelines, uphold GGGIโs core values and ensure gender and social inclusion.
Lead the posting and publication of approved content on Eastern Caribbean social media platform, ensuring alignment with GGGI social media guidelines. Respond to social media engagement as necessary
Ensure Eastern Caribbean content on the GGGI webpage is up to date.
Monitor the reach and impact of print and online content distributed and prepare regular reports in support of performance evaluation and future communications planning.
Build and maintain relationships with local media, government communication teams, project partners, regional organizations and other stakeholders to amplify GGGIโs messages.
Carry out and lead communications activities at GGGI events, activities, and project launches
Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories from GGGIโs projects for knowledge-sharing purposes.
Liaise with the OECS Commissionโs Communications and Information Management Units to enhance GGGIโs visibility within the Commissionโs staff and member states
Support the alignment of all communication and knowledge sharing with GGGIโs and donorsโ branding guidelines, and ensure visual identity aligns with GGGIโs identity and message.
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelorโs degree in communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Environmental Studies, International Development or a related field.
Preferably at least 3 years of experience in communications, preferably with an environmental, development, or international organization.
Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and engagingly
Demonstrated Proficiency in graphic design tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite) and multimedia content creation.
Experience in social media management, including content creation, engagement, and analytics.
Experience in creating high-quality knowledge sharing products.
Fluency in English communication and report writing skills are mandatory.Experience in supporting the organization and delivery of events and workshops is a plus
Knowledge of sustainable development, environmental issues, or green growth is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS
The COMKS Senior Assistant, is an X5 grade level in GGGIโs Saint Lucia salary scale. The salary range for the position starts at USD 24,097 per annum, depending on qualifications, experience and internal equity.
GGGI provides 15% of base salary towards retirement plan/long-term savings, 27 days of annual leave, and private health insurance that covers dental and vision.
