ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW
FHI 360 is a nonprofit human development organization dedicated to improving lives in lasting ways by advancing integrated, locally driven solutions. FHI 360 serves more than 70 countries, all 50 U.S. states, and all U.S. territories. FHI 360โs Crisis Response team has been responding to the humanitarian emergency in Tigray, Amhara, Afar, Somali Regions through an integrated Health, Nutrition, WASH, and Protection project to meet the critical needs of the conflict-affected population. FHI 360 aims to expand its reach to the Oromia Region in Negele Borena to provide humanitarian response to affected population and will be implementing the program with the Ethiopia-based national organization, Pastoralist Concern (PC).
Job Summary
Responsible for cleaning buildings, removing debris, and keeping areas neat and tidy. Vacuums and buffs floors, shampoos carpets, empty trash receptacles, and replace lining off trash cans. Growing and cultivating multiple plants in a variety of green spaces in a country office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DELIVERABLES
- Clean the Office (collect and dispose rubbish; clean the floor, windows, office rooms and furniture, etc.)
- Keep the office in good working order.
- Ensure that the office is in good hygienic conditions.
- Ensure that the guest house is in good residential order and hygienic conditions.
- Operate machines used for cleaning including vacuum cleaner, laundry machine and iron, etc.
- Inform the logistician of any problem, maintenance needs concerning the building.
- Ensure that all the cleaning products and tea/coffee/sugar are available and store them in a safe place.
- Make sure hot and clean cold water are available for consumption at all times in the office.
- Follow-up of the consumption of cleaning products, tea-Coffee, sugar & water with the supervisor.
- Any other duty assigned by the supervisor for the maintenance of the office or guesthouse.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One year of previous experience in cleaning, including the use of chemicals and using cleaning machinery safely.
- Experience in a similar job โ ideally from an INGO.
- Fluent in local language and working knowledge of English.
- Good physical conditions; able to lift objects up to 15 Kgs multiple times a day; able to work standing for extended number of hours.
Typical Physical Demands:
- Typical office environment.
- Ability to spend long hours looking at computer screen and doing repetitive work on a keyboard.
- Ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift/move up to 5 lbs.

- Less than 10%
