The Civil Peace Service (CPS) is a program for violence prevention and peacebuilding in crisis and conflict regions. In Jordan, the GIZ-CPS aims to strengthen the ability of civil society actors to engage in dialogue and to promote non-violent conflict transformation. The overall goal is to contribute to social cohesion and to enable people - especially refugees and vulnerable groups in host communities, as well as youth and women - to shape their lives with a perspective for the future. The partner organization โAl Qantaraโ is a non-profit organization that works to promote political participation, volunteerism, and the personal and professional development of young people of all genders to strengthen their role in community life and the labor market.
Your tasks
Development of context-sensitive concepts to promote life skills and dialogue-oriented youth work, strengthening social cohesion and non-violent conflict resolution Implementation of low threshold, connecting activities, e.g. sports, dialogue, media for diverse youth groups with Al Qantara Support for intercultural dialogue formats and English language learning to foster tolerance, openness, and employability skills Capacity building within the \"Safe Spaces\" program: support in planning, evaluation, and implementation; facilitation of internal reflection processes Support in developing sustainable community engagement strategies, especially in the area of volunteering Promotion of exchange and networking with civil society and institutional actors at national and international levels; support in accreditation processes, e.g. ERASMUS+Your profile
University degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field, e.g. Peace and Conflict Studies, Social Work, Development Studies Knowledge of civil conflict transformation and dialogue facilitation, experience with volunteer and project management desirable Experience working with young people, e.g. exchange formats, volunteering, youth encounters, proven ability to identify with and connect to young people, open and approachable in interactions with youth Intercultural sensitivity and experience in development cooperation, ideally in an Arab-Islamic context Resilience, teamwork skills, self-reflection, and strong communication skills Willingness to live and work in Maโan 3 days per week and engage with local living realities Business fluent in English, confident use of digital tools, Arabic language skills are an advantage; basic knowledge and strong motivation to learn the languageLocation information
