5 Steps to get a job in the United Nations

The Organisation

Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organisation that advances childrenโ€™s rights and equality for girls. We believe in the power and potential of every child but know this is often suppressed by poverty, violence, exclusion and discrimination. And it is girls who are most affected.

Working together with children, young people, supporters and partners, we strive for a just world, tackling the root causes of the challenges girls and vulnerable children face. We support childrenโ€™s rights from birth until they reach adulthood and we enable children to prepare for and respond to crises and adversity. We drive changes in practice and policy at local, national and global levels using our reach, experience and knowledge.

For over 85 years, we have rallied other determined optimists to transform the lives of all children in more than 80 countries.

We wonโ€™t stop until we are all equal.

The Child and Youth Safeguarding Technical Advisor's role is to develop tools, guidance, and procedures that guarantee the safety of children and young people who engage with the organization. The role also provides expert advice and support to ensure that Plan International Liberia meets and maintains its safeguarding standards for children and young people. The aim is to ensure that children and young people can engage with the organization safely and meaningfully. Additionally, the role involves reviewing and managing cases related to child and youth safeguarding concerns and incidents, including policy breaches, reporting such incidents, and responding to them in line with the organization's safeguarding policy and procedures. Finally, the role identifies any learning and implications for management that may arise from such incidents and concerns.
