Work LocationParis, France Expected duration12 months Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe UNEP-convened Climate and Clean Air Coalition (CCAC) is a partnership of governments, intergovernmental organizations, and representatives of the private sector, the environmental community, and other members of civil society. The CCAC is the only international initiative working on integrated climate and clean air solutions to reduce the rate of near-term warming. It focuses on fast action to reduce emissions of short-lived climate pollutants (SLCPs) including methane, black carbon, HFCs and tropospheric ozone. More information about the Global Methane Pledge is here: www.globalmethanepledge.org The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) hosts the Secretariat at the Industry and Economy Division in Paris. A Programme Manager is needed to support the CCAC Secretariatโs development, coordination and management of CCAC-funded projects. To learn more about CCAC projects, visit our website: www.ccacoalition.org/projects. Responsibilities: To support the Programme Officer, the consultant will provide support in: 1. Coordinating projects through 3 of the 4 phases, specifically development, implementation and closure. 2. Developing and reviewing project schedules, scopes, budget estimations, and implementation plans. 3. Advising on internal resources and external implementers to ensure successful project execution. 4. Tracking project performance and ensuring that project requirements are met, including quality assurance of project deliverables/outputs. 5. Establishing and ensuring relationships with and engagement of relevant stakeholders at country level. 6. Creating and maintaining comprehensive project documentation, as well as liaising with CCAC communications team members on transparency of projects via CCAC website, etc. 7. Developing and documenting best practices for project/grant management in the CCAC context. 8. Internally, advising team members on good project development as well as project management practices. 9. Connecting project progress, such as key outputs and successes, with other CCAC work streams. 10. Advising on/tracking changes to procedures relating to partnerships and project implementation, ensuring communication of releechanges to the wider team 11. Other ad hoc duties as required. Qualifications/special skills- Advanced university degree in international development, project management or a related field is required. - A minimum of 5 years of professional working experience in project management role, partnerships and/or administration is required. - Good understanding of environmental issues such as climate change and air pollution (including in a developing country context) is required. - Proven planning, project management and organisational skills is required. - Advanced skills in Excel/spreadsheets and database management is required. -A minimum of 2 years of experience in (or demonstrated experience in/knowledge of) at least one of the SLCP source sectors โ agriculture, cooling, household energy, fossil fuels, transport, waste โ would be an asset. - Strong skills in technology/software solutions, especially using Microsoft Office 365 tools (especially SharePoint) is an asset. - Advanced Excel skills, including basic coding, is an asset. Languages- English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.
